She called Frick Electric, and they sent 2 men, when it was really only a one man job. She is 85 years old, and not very familiar with household electrical work. Their recommendation was to replace the the bulbs for ALL the fixtures. They left and came back they next day, and replaced the bulbs. They CHARGED HER OVER $250 to for the labor of two men to change 8 bulbs. She could have had a family member or neighbor easily do that. After they left, the fixtures quickly stopped working within 24 hours. She felt taken advantage of and stupid for paying them such an enormous fee, for non working light fixtures. A few days later, I arrived at her house, and on inspection noticed one of the bulbs they replaced was broken. She couldn't have done it herself, so it must have been one of the bulbs that they installed. I advised her to call them back. They came back after 2 weeks of trying to call them, leaving multiple messages, to come back and honor their work guarantee. When the electrician came in, he dismissed that they might be responsible for the broken the light bulb, adjusted how the contacts so the bulb would connect with the fixture. It worked for all of 24 hours after he left. He suggested we have them come back and install all new light fixtures. Um.... no thanks.
