After initial installation and the first rain the water ran back into the house and required continuous action to keep the water from flooding the basement. H & H General Services attempted to correct the water run off issue by removing some of the pavers (also removed the base material and structual material) in an attempt to correct the grade of the patio.
After the patio pavers had been re-installed the water continued to run back towards the house or collected in low spots. When re-installing the pavers H & H General used a metal hand tamper and damaged most if not all the pavers.H & H General Services offered to rip out and re-install the patio, but would not replace the damaged pavers. Follow-up with Bel-Gard relieved that the selected pavers should NEVER be hand pounded with a tamper and require careful installation to ensure pavers are not chipped or damaged.
After meeting with two other patio contractors it was determined that the whole patio has to be removed and none of the material is reusable.
H&H proposed a settlement $2,674.00 via the BBB. I accepted the settlement and closed the case with the BBB. As of today (1Sep 2012) I have not received payment although H&H re-claimed all pavers from the job site.
Update: The refund has been received.
H&H has also changed addresses. The new address is:
