Took trailblazer in the previous week so teddy could look at it.
took 5 mins.
had to order the cable.
schedule appointment for the following week.
took car in at 9am. left it.
they called at noon to come get the car.
also had an oil change using my oil- MOBILE ONE and K&N filter (they let me bring it which is so very nice)
price included the oil change and lube.
car runs great.
I trust the mechanics at this establishment.
prices are always fair.
they go the extra mile for their customers

Excellent work. Job was done in 2 hours. Ed also check over the car to see if anything else needed work. Second time there. Really like the staff and feel they are very good mechanics and stand by their work. Ed is great and so are his sons. Price is fair - not over priced. I will return for more work on both cars when required.

I used York Automotive for some engine repairs and a tune up for our car. They were very professional: they contacted me after evaluating the problem with a description and estimate of the cost to repair, and completed all repairs in the estimated time they said they would. The car has been running great since they fixed it. I really appreciate their precision in diagnosis and repair. I also was pleased with their excellent workmanship -- when I got the car back the engine compartment was cleaner than when I dropped it off!
I know I would have paid more at the dealer and from what I can see I think my car got better service and care from York. I am happy that I found a skilled mechanic who is fair and professional. In summary, they did very good work at a fair price.

I have been using York Automotives since October 2011 when they found the cause and fixed the and quot;service engine lightand quot; on issue of my BMW that the dealer could not fix. Ed is courteous and explains the work to be done very well. And their price is reasonable. Most importantly, they have done an excellent job on my cars. I stopped going to Acura and BMW dealers and use them exclusively instead.

The brake pads had previously been replaced by another service establishment. Ed explained that they had used the cheapest possible pads that had irregular particles of metal in them which was causing the grinding noise. The lug nut had also been cross threaded by them. I had asked York to replace the seat belt that was frayed but Ed had contacted Honda and found out that there was a lifetime warranty on their seat belts and it could be replaced free if I took the car to Honda and the damage was due to general wear and tear (which it was) this was a considerable saving of money.
I was extremely impressed with the honesty and detailed information about the work performed that was given by Ed York the owner and the courteousness and responsiveness of everyone at York . Work was performed as requested in a timely manner and at a very reasonable price. I will continue to use York Automotive to service my cars.

A Toyota dealer estimated the job would cost $275.00 more than York charged. They had the car ready within a couple of hours and it wasn't necessary to have the front end alligned (as Toyota had advised). The car runs great, the job was done correctly and at a location far closer than the Toyota dealer. Great job! Future repairs will go to York.

The last time I had my car serviced was this time last year. I own a race car and he does work on my race car. He rebuilt an engine for me and I had him do some suspension work. I was very happy with the results. They know what they are doing and they don't fix something that is not broke.

I recently moved to New Market, MD. Due to a persistent brake noise on our 2009 Nissan Versa, I obtained several quotes via phone (for front-wheel brake service and insepction of the rear brakes) from several repair shops in this area, including one from Ed at York Automotive in Mount Airy. I chose to use York Automotive based upon 1.) the reviews I read on Angie's list and 2.) the fact that Ed asked me several pertinent questions over the phone to develop a quote, questions that none of the other shops (including a dealership) asked me. Ed called me back very quickly with an estimate for new ceramic pads and machining the rotors; he also stipulated the specific type of brake pads they planned to install, if needed. Although I received lower-proced estimates over the phone, I was confident that this was a quality organization.
We dropped the car off at York Automotive that evening, and I received a follow-up call the next morning from Ed. He reported to me that the brakes were squealing simply due to rust build-up on the rotors and drums, which is quite common and essentially unavoidable. Furthermore, the front brakes were only 40% worn and the rear brakes were only 30% worn. He further noted we probably have approximately 25,000 miles of wear remaining in the exisiting pads (front) and shoes (rear). They rotated the tires (one tire on the front was worn significantly more than the others) and checked the tire pressure in all four tires. So from an estimate of $259.62, they were only charging us a (very) nominal service fee of less than $30. So I asked him to please perform an oil/filter change as well.
I couldn't get to the shop before they closed, so I paid over the phone and they left the vehicle secured and ready for us to pick up using a separate set of keys. We picked up the vehicle that evening. I couldn't have been more impressed! They could have told me just about anything regarding the brakes, and they could have at least performed the repair service I had requested and explicitly authorized. But that work was not necessary, and they were up-front and honest about it. Although this is what I hope and wish that everyone and every business would do, I suspect that many other automotive repair shops would not have taken that (honest) approach to this situation! York Automotive has most definitely earned my future business! I called and spoke with Teddy today to be sure they're aware of how much their honesty was/is appreciated by a brand new customer. I learned that this is a family-owned business (Ed's his father) and they always treat customers as they would want to be treated. I own three vehicles, and will definitely be going back to York Automotive for my future automobile service needs!
