Exceptional customer service from start to finish during the replacement of our heat pump. Very positive experience with Tom the owner, and Sam and Paul his installers. For the quote, installation and follow-up they always showed up at the exact scheduled time. The whole team was very conscientious to respect our home. During the installation Sam and Paul made every effort to keep our basement clean even though it was a wet, snowy, and muddy day. It was apparent Sam and Paul took great pride in their work and explained the installation process and took the time to answer all of our questions. Tom came back the next day to follow-up on the installation, explain the operation of the system, warranty, and to make sure we were satisfied. We also got a quote from a large well known company but after reading many online reviews we were afraid we would just become another number once the pleasant salesman was out of the picture. Both quotes were similarly priced. We like the idea that we will see the same professional team during our yearly maintenance check up. We would highly recommend Mathers Mechanical to anyone needing any HVAC service.

This was a positive experience from the beginning to the end. The proposal for the work was fair, the work was done carefully and on time, care was taken to protect my home with booties and drop cloths, and Mr. Mathers and his crew were courteous and helpful in terms of explaining options for the replacement system. Importantly, after the contracted work was finished, the air conditioning unit needed to be relocated due to more operational noise infiltrating through the house wall than expected. Mr. Mathers did this at no additional charge. In summary, this company exemplifies a high level of professionalism.

I purchased a home and 4 days later the AC stopped working. Tom was able to come on short notice and resolve my issue. He made great recommendations to me and inspected unresolved issues from the home inspection. I am very pleased with his services.

In November 2015 I had Mathers Mechanical replace the 31 year old blower fan motor for my heating and air conditioning unit. On 3-9-2016 the new fan motor malfunctioned. I contacted Mathers Mechanical that afternoon and the following morning [3-10-2016] Mr. Mathers came to my house, removed the old fan motor and went for a replacement motor. The next morning [3-11-2016] he returned, installed the new motor, and ran additional checks on the system. The replacement job was covered by warranty. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with Mathers Mechanical. Mr. Mathers responded very quickly to my call, and repaired the problem to my satisfaction. Any future problems with my heating and air conditioning systems will be handled by Mathers Mechanical. These folks are great.

I called Tom after our furnace went out on the coldest night of the year. He responded quickly and was at the house within 30 minutes. He diagnosed the problem, picked up a replacement part and had the furnace fixed within 2 hours. Saved us from another freezing night !

Job went very well and fast. The technicians were very friendly and helped me ensure the supply vents and returns were in the most efficient locations. Mathers response time was exceptional. The owner (Tom) returned a quote in less than a day and the job was completed the same week. Mathers left me all the necessary hardware (vents, tie wraps) and the technician (Sam) took the time to explain how to complete the final hookups once the walls are completed. Thanks

This was a good experience. Tom was very professional, practical, knowledgable, conscientious, and honest the entire time. The crew was pleasant and seemed to know what they were doing. All work was done on time and was complete within the two-day time frame originally estimated, with the exception of having to return the following week to complete a couple small details, which was fine. The price was reasonable ($9000 including Bryant and BGE rebates) relative to other estimates that I received (one was $4000 more for the same products and work - probably to pay the well dressed sales man who visited and gave the estimate) and at no time did I feel as if anything was being pushed on me or that I was being taken advantage of in any way. Some other estimators that visited my house were more pushy and clearly less-knowledgable. The work was supported by a two-year installation warranty. The other three estimates I received came with 1 year warranties.

Occasionally you find a contractor that exceeds all expectations. Our furnace stopped working and Tom stopped by the same day to diagnose the problem. He returned the next day to replace the fan motor in our furnace. Very responsive and showed up as expected. Replacement went better than expected and he actually charged less than the estimate. Honest, ethical, professional and freindly. We could not be more satisfied. As a side note, Mathers Mechanical installed an HVAC system in my garage several years ago and we are thrilled with the product/system. We are now going to have Mathers Mechanical do the annual preventative maintenance on all our equipment.

This visit couldn't have gone better ... I will definitely be using Mathers for my future HVAC needs. I wanted to have a digital thermostat installed, put out a request to four vendors, and three of the four answered me a few hours later. Mathers' price was about half of the other HVAC company (with comparable Angie's List ratings), so I went ahead and set up an appointment for Friday.
They had an earlier opening on Thursday, contacted me, and came out on that day instead. Lucas was very professional, and extremely patient with my related questions about the new gadget as well as the existing system. He and his helper were considerate in putting on shoe-booties, to protect my carpet from wet footprints, and took away the old mercury thermostat (for proper disposal of the hazardous materials).
Tom Mathers was very professional in my phone dealings, as was the telephone receptionist.
They had an earlier opening on Thursday, contacted me, and came out on that day instead. I'm very impressed with this company and their personnel. They had the lowest price by far of the 4 estimates I got to install an AprilAire 600 humidifier. One proposal was more than twice the cost of Mathers. The owner was very responsive, and gave me an estimate based on some photos I sent of the unit. Due to some bad weather, they were unable to make the first appointment and, as a result, provided a free checkup of the system for next Fall. |Lucas, the technician, arrived on time and was very professional. He took great care to bring no dirt into the house, and left the work area cleaner than when he arrived. He did a great job of installation and obviously takes pride in his work. |I'm very pleased with Mathers, and I would recommend this firm to anyone.

Not only did Tom (the owner) provide the best price from all of the quotes I received, but the service experience was excellent. The install team arrived promptly and was very professional and made sure we were up and running the same day. After the install, they noticed that the position of humidifier was not in an ideal location even though it worked perfectly. Without me even asking, on their own decided they would come back later in the week to put it into a different location to make it easier to access. Not sure how they could improve on the overall experience.

Tom Mathers arrived on time (actually 10 minutes early), is a very personable guy who definitely knows his stuff. He thoroughly checked both air handlers, replaced the filters with ones I provided, checked the outside units and had no problem with me following him around and asking questions and he pointed out all the things to watch out for with a system that is about 12 years old. I asked him if he also services whole home humidifiers and he did and went to work checking it out to make sure everything was working properly. It was thank goodness and Tom didn't bill me any extra. I thought his fees were very reasonable and he told me when we first spoke that it would be $99 for the checkup... more of course if there were issues. I was very impressed and when he gave me the option to prepay for a Spring/Summer checkup which also gives you priority if you have a service issue, I took it. Highly recommended.

Tom is easy to reach on the phone or via email and responds promptly. The only reason I give them a B for punctuality is that the start date for the work slipped a few times, though Tom promised my first two maintenance visits free to make up for it.
I recently had a problem with one of the interior units and Tom took my call - even though it was Sunday of Labor Day weekend - and offered to send someone out. What more can you ask for?

Tom Mathers was wonderful to work with from start to finish. The quote was substantially less than another local company. When the installation date was later than we had hoped, Tom kept our old heat pump running. On two occasions, he came to our home to give the old unit a shot of freon (we had a major leak). The installation went well and he sent a 4 person crew to get it done quickly since we have my elderly mother living upstairs in our home.

I saw the ratings for this company on Angie's list and they had 100% satisfaction by all customers who had rated them. I was extremely interested to learn more about them so I called the company and talked to Tom Matters, the owner and asked for a bid. Now I know why this company gets the 100% satisfaction rating. Tom and his crew are knowledgeable, responsive, professional and their prices are also very reasonable. Tom came and assesed the job site and discussed our options. He made a recommendation of the type of system to install and provided us a bid which was very reasonable. We selected them to do the work. He came back and brought a sample of the units to show us what to expect and we scheduled the work.
