Kevin was great to work with. He was overbooked because of the weather and holiday, so he tried to help me resolve the problem by messages exchanged via Angie's List. When that didn't work, he came out and was here when he promised. He quickly confirmed what the problem was and saved us more than the service call cost by installing a reconditioned pump. Then he gave us several really useful tips as to how to keep the tub operating efficiently.

In one word: FANTASTIC! I doubt you could find anyone better to service your spa. Kevin McCoy is a role model for customer service. Very nice friendly guy, very knowledgable, professional, and provides a very good value. He arrived on time. He not only identified the problem (a small crack in one of the air jets where it connected to the water tubing) and fixed it quickly, but the "extras" he provided made the whole transaction even more valuable. For example: He took time to answer all of my questions and educated me on some of the "innards" of the spa and where problems tend to occur and what to look for, gave me a tip to lengthen the life of my spa cover (use WD-40 on it after washing it with soap/water, rather than the AmourAll we had been using), gave me a web site to price check the cost for my filters - it saved me over 50%!!!, showed me how I could replace my own control panel easily rather than pay him to do it! And there were other "gems" that he provided that I didn't mention , but you get the gist of it - wonderful service and advice!!! The only category that I did not rate an "A" was Responsiveness and I actually felt a bit guilty about giving a "B". Kevin is very busy and only returns his voice messages once a day (usually in the afternoon). If you call and leave a message, be patient and wait as he might not get back to you until the next day depending on when you leave your message. Again, be patient, he will return your call and he is well worth the wait.

On 12/18/15, I sent a message to Dolphin Aquatics to see if they could take a look at our hot tub that was losing about an inch of water per day. Before the message, I took several panels off of the hot tub to understand where the leak was coming from. I narrowed it down to the unions on both sides of the heater unit. Try as I might, I couldn't reduce the leaking. The owner of Dolphin Aquatics, Mr. Kevin McCoy, contacted me very quickly and went through some trouble-shooting with me over the phone. He narrowed the problem down to several gaskets that I hadn't known were in the unions. At this point, Kevin was willing to talk me through replacing the gaskets, but I decided that since I haven't had the tub serviced in many years, it might be best to have a professional take a look at the spa while they were replacing the gasket. Kevin scheduled a service call and arrived promptly to our home. He quickly replaced the faulty gaskets and took the time to look over and comment on our spa. It was clear that he was extremely knowledgeable about a variety of hot tubs including our Coleman Spa. I appreciated his thoughts on some additional maintenance that I could perform, as well as several things to be on the lookout for as we continued using our hot tub. Throughout the service, Kevin was very professional, and took the time to answer all of my questions.
Having been on the receiving end of some very poor service from the company that installed our spa, it is very refreshing to find a true professional like Mr. Kevin McCoy who understands the value educating the customer. As long as we have this spa, I will continue to take advantage of Kevin's experience, expertise, and excellent customer service skills!

Originally, the circuit breaker on the hot tub kept tripping. After that was fixed, then the hot tub would not heat. Kevin scheduled a visit and was prompt at arriving at our home. He looked at the tub and determined the issue. He was very detailed at his assessment and completing his work. He was good at explaining was he found as the issue and instructed us on how to fix this ourselves. He let us know that in the next 30 days that he would return in necessary for free. We called him back after a couple of days and told him the hot tub would not heat. He scheduled another visit and found that the settings on the tub were wrong and that was why the tub would not heat. He reset the hot tub settings and we have had many wonderful relaxing times in the hot tub. He will be my recommendation for anyone needing a quality service on their spa..

Mr Mc Coy promptly returned our call and on 1st visit repaired the spa. He explained all of his work and gave suggestions on how to maintain the Hot Tub.

We received a used spa from a family member and after placing it in our backyard and turning it on, we found that one of the pump motors was not turning and there was water dripping from several different fittings underneath. Fearing that we had just inherited an 800-pound lawn ornament, I left a detailed (and somewhat frantic) message with Dolphin and received a call back later the same day from Kevin. He asked a few questions and was able to come out the next morning. He arrived not only on time, but a little early, and quickly fixed the pump motor and tightened all of the leaky plumbing connections. He verified everything was working correctly, and gave us a much needed tutorial on basic spa care an maintenance. He carries spa supplies and some parts on his truck, so we were able to buy bromine tabs and a water test kit while he was here, saving a trip to the store. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Kevin has years of experience, is really knowledgeable, honest, and very personable. If you need any kind of spa service or maintenance, or even if you just have some questions, I highly recommend calling Kevin at Dolphin Aquatics.

After Keven installed the new motor and wet end in our spa, the timer stuck in the 'on' position. Keven came out and cleaned the contacts, and it was working fine. He charged his normal labor fee of $115. A couple of days later, it stuck again. This time Keven put in a used timer at no cost that he had on hand. A couple of days later, this timer stuck in the 'on' position. After talking to Keven on the phone, I ordered a new timer of the same brand and type as our old one. Keven came out and installed the new timer. A couple of days later, this timer also was stuck in the 'on' position. He and I were totally dumbfounded by this problem. The timer was rated at 16 amps and the motor was rated for 16 amps, but the timer contacts kept getting fused after a day or two of operation. At this point I suggested he test the start-up amps, which he did. Hello! for one fraction of a sec. the motor draw peaked at 18.1 amps, effectively frying the contact points on the timer! Keven ordered a different brand timer rated at 20 amps and came out to install it. Mind you, Keven had to come out FIVE times over an eight week period to get this problem fixed but never charged us more than the original $115 fee to clean the contacts on our old timer. He has a 90 day warranty on his labor and he stuck with his policy, even though he had to travel from Damascus MD to our place in Takoma Park. I paid $40 for the new 16 amp timer I had ordered and paid him $40 for the new 20 amp timer he had ordered. This was definitely a difficult situation for both Keven and me, but we stuck it out with a lot of patience and humor and he got the job done. I highly recommend Keven for any hot tub repairs.

Kevin McCoy, the owner/tech was more than happy to install the motor/wet-end I had ordered for our older spa in one visit. He did not
require us to buy the part from him. He had to do some re-plumbing, and supplied the necessary PVC parts at a nominal price. He did not charge extra for the plumbing work, so that the labor and trip fee were exactly as quoted on the phone. The job total, with an all new pump/wet-end, labor and travel, was $400.
Note: another company wanted to sell us the motor only, without a new wet-end, for $300, about twice what it would cost on line, and needed two paid visits to do the job; one visit to determine the correct part and a second visit to install the part. They didn't want to do any extra plumbing for a new wet-end. Estimate for work was $500 to put in a new motor and re-use the 20 year old wet-end.

It hard to find parts for bath tubs, but they can find any parts. They improvise and rebuild heaters, filters and hot tubs. I am very happy to have found them. I am able to maintain all this in an economical way because of them.
