I’ve honestly never had a better experience hiring an electrician/electric company. Nick is easily the best electrician I’ve ever met. He’s super nice and professional at all times, and he really knows what he’s doing. He really works with you to make sure your satisfied with everything. I was able to schedule both the quote and the job very quickly, and both Nick and the company stayed in touch throughout the process and were easy to get ahold of. Haas & Sons is hands down the best electric company around. I will never hire anyone else for electrical work again. Highly recommended!

Angies List suggested getting a quote from Haas and a couple other electricians through their app. Haas and Sons Electric was the first to call. He said they would give a more accurate estimate after they see the job, but estimated $200 if it is simple and up to $750 if it is complex and problematic. The other electricians were both in the $200-250 range, but Haas was available first, so I booked them. The electrician looked at the job and said it was the simplest type. He looked up on their price list the cost and options to add the outlet and switch. The price options on their list ranged from $500 to over $1500. The cheapest $500 one was to add the outlet and switch to an existing wire run, which is what I needed. I am not happy that they said a fair price over the phone which matched other quotes, yet the lowest price on their price list was more than double their original estimate. I decided not to go with them because it was double the price others gave. They charged a $89 trip charge. I recommend avoiding them not just because they are overpriced, but because they are sneaky and deceptive. I overheard the boss talking to the electrician on the phone and the boss indicated that he knew he had given an artificially low quote and it was on purpose. So, they give low estimates over the phone and have a mandatory trip charge. Thus, you are stuck paying $89 with nothing to show for it other than wasted time and a new wait for a fair and reasonable electrician to come, or, you pay double the going rate. Slimy!

"I am very confused here as to why you didn't do the work. You called, we provided a price range over the phone of $275-$600 for your type of installation. We drive an hour to get to you. We look at the work and see it will take another 2-3 hours to complete plus materials. We provided you with several levels of options to complete the work. The lowest option was under $500, which was perfectly within the price range given over the phone. You decline the service, why? Do we have installs that start at $275 for your type of work, yes we absolutely do but not ones that take up 3-4 billable hours."

Nick was courteous, professional, and explained the options available, and gave me an estimate before he left. Then he hit me with an $89 service charge. Of all the communications I had with Haas and Sons Electric, only one mentioned the $89 service charge, and that one was not clear, at least to me, that it applied to giving an estimate. I understand that it costs money to send someone out to give an estimate, but there are plenty of electrical contractors who consider providing an estimate as a cost of doing business. Of course, they recoup this cost if they get the contract. Based on that, you might think that Haas and Sons Electric Inc’s estimate of work would be lower, but it was far from being the lowest. I have had work done on my roof, bathrooms, kitchen, and floors, and this is the first time I have ever been charged for an estimate. Obviously, my rating can’t apply to the quality of work done, since there was nothing more than an estimate.

We needed to replace our deck dome light with a ceiling fan light because yellow jackets were able to get into the dome light to make two nests. Exterminator removed the nests, we bought the ceiling fan with light and called Haas and Son Electric. After explaining our issue, they gave us a next day appointment and Nick was here first thing this morning. He did a great job, had an electrical box on the truck that needed to hold the ceiling fan, and even applied silicone around the top to assure yellow jackets couldn't get in. We have used Haas Electric and Sons in the past and as senior citizens, we need a company we can trust and that is affordable. Highly recommend.

Chris gave us many service level options and even managed to get us a break on the permit price. Quick work and very responsive with any questions. Haas and Sons will definitely will be our go to for any future electrical work. Maybe a bit pricey for the work, but they seem competitive compared to others.

I was having electrical problems throughout my house. Some appliances worked, some didn’t. Some lights were too bright sometimes, others were too dim sometimes. Some electrical outlets worked, some didn’t. Chris was courteous and professional. He diagnosed the problem in about 15 minutes and called BG&E himself to arrange for BG&E to send a repair truck out to my house, since the problem was a damaged power line leading into the house (specifically, the ground/neutral wire had been severed from rubbing up against a tree).

Haas technicians installed a ring pro doorbell in place of the intercom panel on the exterior of my home. The intercom works within the house and the doorbell works through the ring device. I am pleased with the aesthetics on the outside of my home and more importantly with the operation of the doorbell. I have used Haas for previous work and highly recommend Haas for any electrical services.

It went very well. Jason arrived right on time (a little early if I remember correctly). He took care of everything very professionally. In addition, he gave me a lot of information about the wiring in the house, which I very much appreciated. Haas and Sons is now my go-to electrical business.

Paid for the person to check to see what was needed. He promised to let me know by E-mail the evening after his inspection(May 10, 2018) if they could locate a motor for the fan or the price of and new fan. A week passed and I did receive any communication from the company. I called the company on May 18 and the person could not answer my question but told me that someone would call me. No call. Now I will have to find another company and pay for service fee. I wasted my time and money dealing with Haas and sons.

I could not be more pleased with the professionalism and great service from Chris. He arrived promptly last week to look at jobs and provide estimate, even pointing out some code violations that I need fixed since I am putting my house on the market. The emailed estimate was prompt and reasonable, broken down by task. Today he spent the entire day working on the long list of items, not leaving until all completed (indoors and out), ensuring all old fixtures were taken away. communication was great along the way, both electronically and in person. HIs scheduler was wonderful to deal with as well, and also sought feedback from estimate experience. Bottom line, I cannot recommend Chris enough. I love supporting small businesses as well.
