It went very well. They took the rugs to their workplace and returned them in excellent condition. Purchased some rug pads (expensive, but glad I did that). The young man who picked up and returned the rugs was very amiable, courteous, professional. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Excellent job! Very courteous and professional young man arrived promptly to pick up rugs, and same young man returned them to us. Very please with their customer service and quality of cleaning, especially considering they had some pet odors to deal with. We had unexpected company arriving and were able to have the rugs returned a bit ahead of the original schedule. So glad we have a "go-to" cleaner for all of our oriental rugs.

I don’t think I’ve ever written an internet review before about anything, but I feel as if I have to warn other consumers about Cunningham’s. We sent four rugs to be cleaned by them in November 2017. When they returned a month later, and after a $760 cleaning bill, one of our rugs was totally destroyed. The rug we sent out had some wear and tear and some dirt, which is why we got it cleaned in the first place, but when we got it back, the stains were larger, the backing of the rug had totally dissolved, the material was frayed and further worn, it was puffy (before it had been flat and thin, which is why we bought it to go under our dining room table), and it had shrunk several inches on each side. Please see the attached photos. After several phone calls, someone from Cunningham’s came out to take pictures. He was visibly stunned at the condition of the rug. After several weeks, we were told the following: “As we discussed rug cleaning is part science and part luck. With so many manufacturers out there all using different methods of construction it is impossible for any rug cleaner to know what the outcome of a cleaning will be because we do not know everything used in the different constructions.” The rug came from Crate & Barrel. It’s about as mainstream a rug as one could purchase. Further, the materials used in the construction were plainly printed on the care label. After a few phone calls to other cleaners and a discussion with Crate and Barrel, we were told that it is plainly obvious and common industry knowledge that dry extraction is the appropriate method for cleaning a viscose rug. This was not the method used by Cunningham’s. Instead of admitting error, Cunningham’s shifted blame to the rug itself: “However, the rug cleaner can not be responsible for what we believe to be inherent flaws in the way certain rugs are manufactured.” It was the rug’s fault? Or, maybe, it was my fault for hiring them to clean the rug in the first place? “Tufted rugs can be beautiful and are often inexpensive and therefore appeal to the mass market but they are not designed to last very long and in some cases really aren’t designed to be cleaned.” Apparently, I should have known that the rug wasn’t designed to be cleaned and should never have sent it to Cunningham’s in the first place? Crate & Barrel had this to say: “The cleaner also stated that their cleaning method is both science and luck. We don't believe luck should be a factor as a professional cleaner should know how to clean this type of rug. The recommended cleaning method is professional dry extraction. … A professional cleaner should know which method is best, as it is common knowledge and the construction is on the rug's tag. Fibers do not change whether being used on a shirt or carpet and Viscose like Rayon should be dry cleaned.” Anyone can make a mistake. All I ask is that mistakes be acknowledged and amends made. They have only offered to reimburse the cost of the cleaning ($240) and nothing else. This is unacceptable when an entire rug must be replaced. Why? “Unfortunately, rug manufacturers are not making it easy on rug cleaners to successfully clean all types of rugs without some inherent risk of physical changes. Due to this unfortunate trend we can not be liable for replacing items altered as a result of cleaning.” In short: cleaning rugs is hard! We can’t keep up! I regret ever sending our rugs to Cunningham’s. I encourage you not to make the same mistake we did.

I have had Cunningham's clean a dozen rugs, both pile and kilim over the past few years, and they have been impeccable each time (except for one misunderstanding regarding an Angie's List coupon that was promptly resolved by management). They know what they are doing, and do it promptly and courteously, Highly recommended.

Cunningham's cleaned three large rugs and one small for us. Picked up by a very courteous professional rep, returned 4 weeks later looking great, no smell, no dampness. While it would have been nice to have the rugs back a little earlier, we were told upfront how long it would be so can't complain. The price with Angie's List coupon was excellent - under $400 for everything. Will definitely call them for future rug cleaning needs.

I was told by Cunningham staff that the rugs would be ready in about a month. In one case, after 2 months when I didn't hear anything, I called the company, and was told that my rug would be ready later that week. When I arrived, I was told that all of the work had not been done. With the next two rugs, again I was told about a month. I called this morning because it has now been 11 weeks, and I have had no communication from Cunninghams. When I called, I was told that there had been problems getting some of the materials, however, no one called me to let me know. And, when I asked about the last rug, I was told that rug was ready, but, again, no one had called to let me know. I am so dissatisfied with the customer service, or lack thereof, I will not take another rug here ever. There is no excuse for such poor customer service.

Great. The driver described in detail what kind of rugs we had, about how long the rug cleaning process would take, and what they were going to do. This is the second time we've used them--very please. And they had a coupon on Angie's list!

The work was excellent. Cunningham's explained how the rugs were constructed, how that would affect the way they were cleaned and what to expect. The work was excellent, and delivery was convenient.

From pickup to dropoff, the experience was absolutely seamless. We had originally bought a deal for 2 rugs to be cleaned, but realized that there was a 3rd one that needed it, so confirmed with Cunningham's that they could accept an additional rug for a regular charge. The representative that picked up the rugs made sure that the two largest rugs had the deal applied so that our additional costs were as low as possible. The turnaround was only about 2 weeks and the rugs looked fantastic when they were returned. I would absolutely use them again.

Prompt and professional. I was surprised at the cost of the underpads, but I cannot blame because I did not comparison shop. I spent much more than the original estimate (which was before the visit, when details were established), and more than I would be willing to do often.

It was great. They did a good job, fair price, responsive and kind staff. Minor annoyance at the end when the wrong item was delivered. I had a friend let them in while I was at work, if I had been home for delivery I would have noticed the wrong rug being dropped off. They noticed the error very quickly and fixed it with pretty minor additional work from me. They tried to make it as convenient as possible.

Very well. The technician was extremely courteous, as were the individuals who scheduled my job. Rug looked great when they returned it. They made sure it was in the exact spot that we wanted it - to the inch.
