Chesapeake Construction was more about what they insisted and wanted than customer satisfaction. All along the way I had to spend a considerable amount of time and energy fighting tooth and nail to get them to do what I requested and paid for and what was written in the contract. For example I had to fight for them to put my kitchen island in the location I gave them in my drawing and for them not to anchor it down. What does it matter to them how I want it? They state it is because it's their name on the work; but it's my house, I am the one who has to live with it, and I am paying for it. Not to mention, not only does the quality of work matter, but it should also matter that you do what your customers request. So many interactions with them were such a hassle and stressful to deal with that I paid the last check even though I had a list of things I was not satisfied with. In addition, they also billed me for trim they did not purchase or install. They were trying to make up money for a mistake they made even though I was significantly under on all the allowances they gave me. During the work, most phone calls were quite curt and emails were not only insulting but condescending and most of them were from the owner. I found out later from a friend that the owner did the same to her when she had work done by Chesapeake Construction. Many things were addressed last minute and rushed leaving me little choices, time, research, and cost me more. Once the stress was over, I reached out 3 months later to tell them that if they would fix one particular thing on the list of problems, I would consider myself to be a satisfied customer, but they refused. I simply asked them to switch a pantry door from swinging in to swinging out so I had more use of the pantry. This is what I initially wanted and was in the drawings but once again was a huge argument that I had to relent on because they said it was ridiculous for it to swing out - it is just not done and I wasn't going to be happy with it swinging out. After three months of use, I am tired of having to squeeze into the pantry to fit behind the door to close it so I can even use the pantry. They are too rushed to pay attention to detail, you are a number not a customer, they are not completely honest, and they do not care if you are satisfied.

They did a great job on both. Our new porch looks fantastic and happy that our heat pump now sits on a nice new sturdy platform. They were easy to work with and left the work area very clean. I would definitely recommend and will use again for future projects. Thanks Bill and Cindy!

They are very professional and did the job within the time they quoted.  At the first consult they listened to what I requested and were able to work with me and my budget, it was refreshing to have someone who will do something other than a full remodel (I had contacted various other companies and they just wanted to rip the bathroom out).  Extremely happy with the work done, was not home most of the time so had a few questions between days and left a note on the door of the bathroom for them to call me, they promptly called to answer my questions.  They also did a little fixes around the bathroom that showed they wanted to do the job right! The staff was conscientious, professional, and extremely responsive to any questions I had about the work, from the owner to the secretary, what a great company.  I would highly recommend them and am happy they listened to me and were able to deliver what they promised!  THANK YOU!!!! Cannot wait to do the Kitchen counters and sink.

The work was done well. However, their customer service was not as good. They assumed I wanted beadboard wainscoting and marked it down as such on the estimate without asking my preference. I had received the estimate for the work I wanted done in 2014 so when I scheduled the work in 2015 they told me their was a 10 percent increase in price. I eventually negotiated down to the original estimate, but that took some doing. They also installed these cheap laminate thresholds and claimed the flooring company did not make matching thresholds. Luckily my husband called them on it and showed them that they in fact did; because Luna had installed the same floors with the right threshold in our living room the year before. However, it took weeks and several phone calls and emails before they came to replace them with the hardwood ones that matched our floors. Needless to say I will not be using them again or recommending them.

Overall the work was done well.  Material was high quality and the finished product looks very nice.  Happy with the workmanship and area was clean once the work was done.

Chesapeake did an excellent job and we have already hired them to replace countertops and sink in our laundry room.

It only took 2 days and they did a fantastic job.  Some of the work was done offsite.  The new stairs are solid oak, very stable and beautiful.  The crew was very friendly and professional.  There is no doubt that we would use them again.

From design to completion, they were top rate.  Highly recommended!!!

The construction went really well. The finishing work was not as good and I had to have them come back several times to make repairs. They did come on time for the work and all the follow up times as well. They had to repaint a bunch of times, patch walls, and other repairs after the work was done.

Chesapeake was professional and overall a smooth process.  Whenever an issue did arise, Bill worked with us and we resolved matters to both of our satisfaction.

It was okay.  Their attention to detail was lacking.  Their rough carpentry was fine, but when it got down to the attention to detail it wasn’t that good.  They made good on most of the things that I had asked them to do, but there were some things I thought they could have done better.  They thought it was good enough.  Overall the project looks okay now that I took care of the problems that I thought weren’t good enough.  Some of the big problems were due to the subcontractor who supplied the railing.

Everything was fine.  They were responsive.  The quality of the work was pretty good.

Their service was excellent.  They were extremely professional.  They were on time and they did an excellent job.  It was very good quality work.

They came to my home and inspected the old skylights, took measurements and gave me advice on the best replacements for our situation.  We signed the contract and placed the order the same day.  They gave me an installation date and time by telephone and the skylights were installed in a timely manner.  They were very easy to work with, did a great job installing the skylights, as well as removing all the old materials and packing debris.
The job was done in a very professional manner; the skylights look beautiful.  We will definitely use them again in the future.

It was delightful working with them. By taking their recommendation on where to purchase my flooring, I had saved a whole lot of money. I had already priced the materials I wanted. The next highest bid for the job was $3,500 higher. Their price was hard to beat.
