Description of Work: We had Golliday Professional Construction replace our patio back door and extend our existing deck out to the pool. I cannot say enough about the workmanship. We absolutely love everything. We even made some design changes along the way with no problems. Even the building inspector commented on the amazing workmanship of our deck. Golliday Professional Construction will be our ONLY home improvement contractor from now on.

Take caution when considering this contractor!!!! We spent over $150,000.00 to have our home gutted and renovated (including an addition to the house) and 4 years later we are still having problems with what Michael Golliday/Golliday Professional Construction did. We had leaks almost immediately after the work was completed, and wound up having to have one of the "new" rooms gutted and redone due to all of the water damaged caused by this contractor. DO NOT let them do roof work or you will have a swimming pool in your house! We have spent thousands of dollars to hire new contractors to redo what Golliday did not do correctly because he refused to come back to fix anything (he came back twice to "fix" the roof and left a bucket of tar with us and said "you will just have to go up there and re-tar it yourself every few months." Which is not only absurd, but in breach of his contract since he has a 5 year warranty on all his work (which turned out to be about as useless as the hole he left in our wall since his only response to our request for him to come back to make things right was "you can't bleed a turnip, I don't have money to come back and fix anything." The deck he added actually sloped in towards the house, rather than away from the house, which was another avenue water was getting inside (just another thing on the list of things that needed to be redone). This man and/or his team could not even install a dishwasher correctly. Instead of attaching it to the counter top, they left it unattached so every time we open it, it falls forward. Parts of the hardwood floor have gaps between panels and he refused to send someone out to fix it or redo it himself. Instead of finishing the trim around the deck, he left sharp edges going all the way around the covers, which were later told was just pure laziness. Our baseboards are already separating from the wall (and there is only 2 of us living here with no dogs or kids). I could go on and on with all of the things this man/company did poorly or to cut corners, and how we are still having problems several years later, but I will just leave it at this, do not use this contractor. He has a terrible work ethic and is less than incompetent. The person who recommended him to us is now having some of the same problems we are (leaks, ceiling caving in, etc.), and he refuses to honor his warranty with them as well. Once he is paid, he will never come back to make things right!!!
Description of Work: renovated our home and added an addition

Contract not completed yet after 5 weeks and counting. Promised complete in less than 4 weeks. I would never in my life deal with a contractor like this again. He is promising more than he can provide. He is also not overseeing the project as a general contractor, so sub contractors destroy or dont follow building codes and rules, so he set himself up to fail. This contractor build a new bathroom and installed and a new wooden ceiling in my livingroom. Also installed half a kitchen because of the expansion of bathroom. He did not cover anything in my livingroom while treating the ceiling with the second coat. Everything is ruined. Damages for about $10,000 that he refuses to cover. Also he made so many mistakes in the bathroom and the part of the kitchen, because of the plumbing that wasnt installed correctly. New kitchen cabinets destroyed because of water damages, that he also refuses to cover. Main sewer line was blocked 4 times which caused our pipes to bust. My basement is soiled in waste from these incidences that he never offered to clear up either. Personally I was covered is sewer waste from top to toe. Plumber did not have snake to clean sewer line, and same plumber closed of pipes with duct tape. Back up valve in basement do not work. Sewer water backs up in washingmachine. Electrician did not install lights correctly so they are falling of the walls. General contractor do not read contract and install items per contract. Showerhead is short of reaching whirltub so drips are landing on tiles. New whirltub wss used by contractor to mix grout which resulted in scratches. He also installed 2 shower rods on the same side instead of opposite side of tub.
Description of Work: build a new bathroom, installation of partly new kitchen and instalation of new wooden ceiling in livingroom.

Response from Golliday Professional Construction
After 14 years in the home improvement/remodeling/ builder business. I have not had a 1 unfinished job or not 1 unhappy client. I have tried very hard to make this client happy. However, he is unsatisfiable. This is an attempt to not pay remaining monies due. The member has a beautiful bathroom/kitchen remodel, and I am out of my final draw payment. Michael Golliday, Owner
