I hired John Clark's Affordable Appliance Repairs when I found them on Craigslist. He advertises a $79 service call. He showed up at my house over an hour past the appointment time saying he was in a car accident. He determined my washer needed a hose, which he needed to pick up and would return the next day to complete the repair. I paid him $109. ($79 for the call $30 for the hose) He did not return the next day. I called several times and each time was given a time and date when he would finish the work, but he never showed. It has been about three months now, and my last call was answered by John Clark stating that he was in Florida and I could get as "****** off" as much as I want, but he will finish the job when he gets around to it. Affordable Appliance Repairs may be affordable, but they sure aren't reliable!!!!! BEWARE before you hire them. UPDATE: 10/23 Contacted Affordable Appliance Repairs again, was told he is still in Florida and will finish work when he returns to Baltimore. He was upset that I had posted this information on Craigslist and mildly threatened action "more than words" if I don't take posting down. I received an email stating that parts for my washer were no longer available after speaking with John. I had been told several times he had the part in his truck. UPDATE: 10/25 I have asked Mr. Clark by email to refund the $30 he charged me for the part needed. He has not acknowledged the email nor refunded the money. UPDATE: 10/27 No acknowledgement or refund of payment. Filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau to see if any action will motivate them. UPDATE: 11/8 Still no response from John Clarke nor a refund of money for part.

He is a cash only upfront company. He came out and identified a part I needed. He skipped town and moved to the Baltimore area. I have been trying to get money back ever since. I have complained to the BBB and also the Florida attorney general. Please be careful!
