BAY HOME INSPECTIONS

At the time, the home inspection seemed fine. The inspector was here for a couple of hours. We specifically asked him if overall the house was in good shape, as we were less concerned by aesthetics and more concerned with major structural issues, electric, plumbing, roof, windows, brick, etc. He assured us that it was. Unfortunately, we have since discovered that he was wrong. A few months ago we had several general contracting companies in our home on different occasions to discuss a bath and kitchen remodel. Every time I had a contractor in my home, they were shocked at the condition of our structural and load bearing walls in the basement. They highly recommended I get them fixed ASAP and I have since had masons out to look at all these issues. I have had brick work alone quoted at 13k-20k for my basement and external walls. I still have to have significant amounts of rotten wood replaced, windows replaced, and structural beams in the basement fixed. The consensus from all of these contractors is that I had a horrific home inspection. Several of them have even offered to provide their expert opinions about the substandard home inspection if we decided to pursue legal action, which we are considering. Every time we get a hard rain, we take in water. Multiple windows leak and the brick itself in the front of our home is in terrible shape. Today we just learned that our furnace is bad. Do NOT use this company. You will not get a fair assessment of the condition of the house you are considering buying. ALL of our issues should have been seen in a routine inspection. We bought this home because we thought there were no major issues with it. I would never have proceeded with the sale, at the price we paid, had I known the extent of the problems with the house. I called this company and spoke with the admin, giving her my name, number, and a brief synopsis of the situation. She returned my call moments later to verify the name and date on the contract. No one has ever called me back
