I am not satisfied with the roof replacement, because some of my wooden ceiling planks became loose and cracked after the roof shingles were replaced by Jerry Lewis Roofing. I can see the roof insulation between the separation and cracks in the ceiling wooden planks, which did not existing before the roof replacement. The service manager has refused to replace the damaged wooden ceiling planks beneath the roof, that were cracked during the roof replacement.

"We here at Jerry Lewis Roofing take all customer complaints seriously, on the very rare occasion we have one. In this instance, we have sent the original salesman, and subsequently our Service Manager to inspect and attempt some complimentary repairs on the 60 year old ceiling. Unfortunately, as detailed in our contractual documents and pre-install checklists, we cannot be responsible for ceiling panels, wall panels, drywall nail pops, etc. that may be damaged due to vibration on the rooftop. We did, in an effort to provide above and beyond customer service, spend several hours re-fastening very old, deteriorated ceiling paneling to attempt to make the customer happy. We apologize that the outcome is not satisfactory."

This contractor was hired by Sears Home Improvement to install a shingle roof on my home and garage. The quality of work and the roofing installers were very unprofessional and eventually had to be replaced by another roofing contractor to properly complete the roof. (1) The installers left a large quantity of roofing debris and roofing nails spread over the lawn surrounding my house on all four sides. I ultimately purchased a magnetic rake to assist in the cleanup of the roofing nails and removal of the debris. (2) The installers were not bilingual, and the roofing foreman who was supposed to present during the entire installation was absent for most of the installation, and communication with the installers was not possible. This became a very serious issue when trying to communicate issues during the installation. (3) The installers removed the shingles from the garage roof leaving the wood on the roof exposed, and were supposed to cover it with a canvass tarp to protect it from the rain that occurred midway through the roofing installation. The installers did not properly cover the garage roof with the tarp and the exposed wood on the roof was saturated with water from the rain, and the rain water likewise leaked into the garage saturating the internal wood boards and beams. In addition, the installers left the wood boards yet to be installed on on the garage roof uncovered and exposed to the rain as well. I immediately contacted the foreman and he assured me that all rain soaked boards would be replaced because the roof could not be properly installed on the wet boards. By chance my wife was at home when the installers returned and witnessed them installing the rain soaked boards - and applying shingles over the rain soaked boards. When she tried to stop them, again they could not understand her and continued. I immediately followed up with the roofing foreman, and eventually he returned to the site and had them remove the wet boards and reinstall the shingles. I am absolutely certain they would have left the roof installed this way had someone not been onsite to witness this - again the supervision was missing. (4) They did not install the drip edge correctly, and had to send back two technicians who were supposed to be specialists installing drip edges for roofing. In the process, not only did they not install the drip edge correctly leaving large gaps, but managed damage to the gutter guards I had installed by another contractor, and left the edge shingles sticking up and displaced. These errors and damage were so obvious I could only conclude they were completely incompetent or impaired in some way. I would never recommend using this contractor.

After reviewing your file, we have recorded several service calls that were completed in an effort to appease your concerns. These service repairs were done under the supervision of a Sears Home Improvement Project Coordinator, with their completion approval of said repairs. We do understand that you are still unhappy, but as a sub-contractor on your project, we are limited to any further action we can take once we have fulfilled our obligation and efforts to satisfy you. We find it very unfortunate that despite our professional efforts to go above and beyond, our technicians have been deemed "incompetent" and "impaired", which I ensure you is not the case. All of our employees undergo thorough background checks and drug testing as well. We do over 350 Home Improvement projects a year in the DC, Maryland, Virginia area and strive to achieve 100% customer satisfaction, as expressed by our A+ Rating with the Better Business Bureau. All of our workers are Manufacturer trained and strive to exceed customer expectation. During our installs, all work performed is done to manufacturer's specifications and any required building codes. We document any problems or complaints that occur in our system in a very detailed manner, and it seems as if there are multiple discrepancies between your claims and our findings that were done in conjunction with the Project Coordinator from Sears. We would like all of our prospective customer's to know that we value your opinion about our company and our workmanship, and we are more than willing to take any and all necessary steps to ensure your satisfaction."

Jerry Lewis Roofing was a sub-contractor for our contract. Jerry Lewis Roofing had their Project Manager show up a couple days before our roof was due for replacement. They told us that the supplies would be there the day before and it was. The supplies was neatly stacked in our yard and you could barely notice it. They all were so courteous and even our neighbors boasted to us about how nice and professional they were. They did not leave one speck of debris behind and they even bought my next door neighbors some ice cream from the ice cream truck for she did not have any change!
