As noted, the list of repairs we needed Lance to do was long, but Lance broke it down for us and gave us a reasonable price for doing all the work. Once we agreed to the scope of work and price, he showed up on time and moved through the list more quickly than I would ever have predicted would have been possible. He even managed to match faded paint colors so that we didn't have to have whole rooms repainted when there was a problem on just one wall. Worth noting: When Lance came upon other issues -- things we had not seen when we did our first walk-through -- he told us about them. On those few occasions where he did not feel he had the expertise to do a repair, he told us and recommended someone else who could do the job. He finished the job on time, and did a fabulous job for us.

I last used him a year or two ago. He finished our basement. The only problem we had was with the coordinating the schedules of the sub-contractors who came in to do the plumbing and the electric. He is very conscientious and very trust worthy. He does not necessarily do the cheapest or most expensive work. He does what the customer wants. Sometimes he takes a while.

He was very good about getting things completed and thoroughly. He was pleasant, polite, and very nice. Although they are a renovation company they had someone that did great handyman work as well.

I called Buell's Home Remodeling to set up a estimate to have a old bathroom vanity/faucet removed and a new one installed. Unfortunately Buell's was not taking on any new work at this time. Instead he recommended and gave me the phone number of a plumber he often uses for this kind of work. I called John who said he could do the work and quoted me a price over the phone. He responded on time on the day the work was scheduled to be done and in less then 2 hours all the work was completed in a professional manner. John is a friendly and competent handyman and will use him again.

Lance met my husband at the house and they discussed what we wanted. With us living in a different state and travel time being an hour plus sometimes, it was hard to get back to the house to make other decisions. I met Lance there on Friday and he asked several questions that I answered, and he said he hoped to be done by the end of the day. When my husband went to the house to take delivery of an appliance we bought recently, he called me on facetime and we looked at the railings. They were absolutely beautiful! I am so impressed with Lance and his work. The baby's room looks fantastic too, no longer green!
We plan on calling Lance in the next month or so to build some deck railings around out back deck. Can't wait to see how those turn out!

It was really great working with Lance. He was very responsive and always answered calls directly or called back right away. He was also very responsive to texts. Lance was very meticulous in his approach to working on our house. He made sure that every detail was taken care of throughout the renovations. We do not live close to our rental property, so he regularly texted photos of the progress and gave great suggestions about ways to make the project better and areas where would could save money. After demolition was completed some unanticipated issues came to light including hidden plumbing leaks and damage to dry wall and flooring. Lance gave us very reasonable prices for the added work. We provided some of the materials for the project including bathroom cabinets, fixtures, tiles. Lance met me a local home improvement store, to review our selections, make sure everything would fit into our plans, and then loaded the items onto his truck and delivered them to the house. Lance was a true partner throughout the renovation project. He was excellent at communicating various options and respected our decisions and our budget. We would definitely recommend Lance for any project large or small!

From the first conversation with Mr. Buell to the end of the project, it was a professional and mutually respectful experience. I grew to trust his professional skill and felt respected as a customer. We were true partners in the development of this project. As things happens, there were many unforseen situations that required either a new direction or additional repair or upgrades. Mr. Buell's approach to these situations was always proactive and honest. He would always present the challenge with several alternatives for resolution - always with an intent to: (1) put the decision-making in my hands; (2) provide several cost options; and (3) to save me money! He treated me, the customer, in such a manner that we were true "partners" in the resolution of the project's challenges and in the final design and development. His professional approach to the work, his professional ethic, and his respect for the particular 'situation' of the customer made this a positive experience (even with the unexpected!).

Overnight the water line on the refrigerator popped and flooded the kitchen and basement. While searching for a contractor, I came across Buell's Home Improvement through Angie's List. What a find! Lance Buell is one of the most meticulous, hardworking, honest people I have had the pleasure to meet and do business with. Lance and his staff were very detailed neat, efficient and effective. He removed and replaced our entire Kitchen, repaired and repainted the damaged areas in our basement. As with every homeowner, once the repair guy comes, there is always more that can be found to be done. My wife and I found Lance and his staff to be cooperative to changes, reasonable in pricing and the finished product is unbelievable. Buell's finished all of the work and additions on time and on budget.
Overall, we are extremely pleased with the finished product and are looking forward to not only referring him to everyone that needs home improvement, but utilizing his services again and again.
Thanks to Buell's Home Improvement, we are loving our home again and especially enjoying preparing meals in our new kitchen.

Initially there was some confusions as to what I wanted. Lance was very patient and helpful. His advise always turned ou to be very beneficial. For example, I am really glad I did the doors, trim, and baseboards in semi-gloss instead of high gloss. I, also, liked that he would offer suggestions without being asked. As stated above, there was extensive repair work. Lance took his time and did a great job.
The job took a little longer due to the disruption of Hurricane Sandy. When Lance returned, I was a little worried the remaining work would be rushed since he was contending with roof damage to his home. Lance and Emanuel continued to do great work.
Painting looks great.
Love the framed windows and sills.The rooms were transformed.

We requested bids from 3 contractors. 1 declined to bid, and of the remaining two, Buell's had the most competitive price based on the work they offered to perform. Lance Buell also had the most professional and helpful demeanor. He asked good questions and worked to understand the problem to make sure he had all of the facts. He also provided some additional information around safety - which I greatly appreciated. No one else seemed to care about that bit. He then surveyed the mess and provided a competitive quote - especially considering that he noticed things that others did not.
While we had a little trouble getting schedules aligned, once we did, Buell's came when they said they would and did what they promised. Anyone who has a rental property or has found themselves in need of a good small contractor will understand just how incredibly rare that is!
I also believe an added bonus is thta Lance is n experienced finish carpenter. A rare breed and a disappearing trade. Having that background and skill, I believe, makes Mr. Buell's attention to detail beyond that of the "usual" handyman or general contractor. Patching draywall is tricky - and you can't even tell now ... and the staircase landing had lots of custom trim work that needed to be reinstalled, and Buell's handled it very well. They even reinstalled the carpet that the other contractor tore away from the stairs - which is not typically their forte, and trimmed it out nicely.
We're very pleased with the work and will look to engage Buell's in the future.

We bought hardwood laminate flooring thinking we would install ourselves. After realizing that we did not have enough time in a day we changed our minds and decided to look for someone to install it for us. After looking on Angies List, we found Lance. And we are so very glad that we did. We are very pleased with the work he and his co-worker perfomed and will be working with Lance on future home improvement jobs.

'Not many people would consider having a water supply line break and flood their house a good thing. In this case I would though, and a large part of the reason for that is Lance Buell and Buell's Home remodeling.
First Let's start with the bad part. Back in September of 2011, I had a water supply line (the one that runs from the wall to the toilet) just explode for some unknown reason. I found this out when I stepped out of bed at around 4:30 in the morning to go use the bathroom and the carpet squelched under my feet.
After enough brain cells started working together to figure out what was going on (followed immediately by grumbling and cursing). I swept the water out of the house, and started panicking about how in the world I was going to get things back in some semblance of order. I was also worried about finding a contractor who was trustworthy as well as competent
I Joined Angie's List and started Searching. I called many contractors and received no response. A few came out and weren't interested, and I got a couple of different estimates. In the end, based on the reviews, and price, I decided to go with Buell's Home Remodeling and I'm glad that I did.
Lance was always willing to work with me when I had questions, or concerns. He also was willing to work with me when I had a few changes that I needed to have made, or making additions to the list of things to be done.
He was very willing to work around my schedule, and even concerned about making sure that there was as little disruption to my life as possible. He was even concerned about making sure that my brother and sister in law who live with me (and sleep late) were not disturbed as much as possible.
I was very satisfied with the quality of the work done by both Lance and his helper. They both did excellent work and really seemed to care about the details and making sure that it was done properly.
In short, I would definitely use Buell's Home Remodeling again for any other projects that I have in the future. Pictures can be provided on request

Lance and Leonard, his right hand man, were wonderful to work with! We felt extremely confident in both the ability of Lance's work and the fairness of his price and business practices. He was able to come out to our house for an estimate the day we called him and was in our home doing the work we had requested just a few days later. He handled the contract process professionally and we felt he was more than fair in the price he offered. We felt very comfortable having him in the house and would ask for his advice on any of our projects going forward. The quality of the work was excellent, despite some challenges beyond his control, and we would love to have him work in our home again. We think he's great!
