He broke all the concrete up in January and left it all in a pile for almost 2 weeks, came back & installed the concrete forms about a week later. I had to keep calling him, as we were having a SuperBowl party at our house, and I had no access to the front door and a pile of concrete in my yard. He finally came back the week prior to Superbowl and poured the concrete. I was given no notice that this was going to be done this day. The weather forecast predicted heavy snow, and it snowed all over the concrete. They continued to stamp under plastic. After 5 more days they came back. The concrete was covered when they uncovered it. I was not happy and he came back to seal the area claiming it was all he could do until the weather warmed. But he would make sure that it was perfect. The small pad in the back - the concrete blew out of the back, and the wood is still sticking up out of the ground. We have called him for 6 months begging him to make this right. He has never showed up to date!
Description of Work: We decided to hire Ray to demo our very small front landing area and 2 steps, pour a new front landing and stamp the concrete, as well as a very small area in the back yard that he agreed to do as a favor for all the work I would refer to him. We chose Ray because he did work for the company that I work for. He was highly recommended by my direct supervisor and he advertises his work around the area. He portrays himself as the owner of Howard County Concrete. NOT A LICENSED CONTRACTOR! Due to the warm weather in January, he claimed that he would begin then, assured me and my husband that this would be perfect, and if anything did go wrong he would make sure it was repaired. He insisted we give him a check for $750.00 for materials. Looking back, I should have refused to write the check to Raymond Leader as he insisted. When he came back the first time after he uncovered it, he demanded payment. He promised me that he would make all repairs but he needed the money and in cash.
