piano tuning
 + -1 moreMr. Strauss is very personable and professional. He came on time, told it like it was, and explained my options well. When I visited him, we had a lovely conversation, and he showed me some of his gems [like a player piano that also had several other instruments!].
Description of Work: I originally called Mr. Strauss in to check out the broken bridge on my piano. We talked about the options, and decided that fixing the bridge would cost more than [or at least as much as] replacing the piano. He did do some temporary fixes to reduce some buzz that a few notes had, but with the understanding that it would not last. A while later I visited Mr. Strauss's workshop and picked out a new-to-me refurbished piano. We arranged for him to deliver it and remove the old one. I'm sorry, it's been too long; I don't remember the costs but I thought they were reasonable.

 + 1 moreHe was professional and helpful. He was honest about the challenges of owning an older piano in the fluctuating weather of MD, but he had some practical solutions for our tuning issues. In addition, he seems to have a real love for beautiful sound and older instruments. He told us about other older pianos that he was in the process of restoring.
Description of Work: He tuned my 100-yr-old upright piano and he did some needed repair work with pin tightening.
