CLEAR VIEW AUTO GLASS LLC

We needed a new windshield to pass MD safety inspection. The first one was so warped- horizontally and vertically- that passengers got dizzy looking out the front. When we called to arrange for a new windshield, I was told over the phone that some warping on the edges was normal. I had to reiterate that the warping was significant and a big distraction. After the part was ordered, we arranged to drive the vehicle near their location to have the windshield replaced. The installers (including owner) arrived on time. Owner looked at windshield and was not acknowledging the warping of the windshield. He had the new windshield in his truck but was trying to convince us that nothing was wrong with our current one, though it was very obvious to us and our friend (whose house we were having the work done at) saw major defects in the shape and contour. This was from the passenger seat, driver's seat, and even looking at the texture of the glass and slope from the external of the vehicle! After denying any problems with current one and stating that some warping on edges was perfectly normal (though this was much worse- across the whole front), the owner mentioned that he didn't want to install a new windshield if it would produce the same problem. He pulled the replacement windshield out of the truck. There was some warping on the sides but nothing down the center which we felt was better than nothing. Work was performed and installers left. When we inspected the vehicle, it was disappointing to see that the warping was much worse along the edges than it seemed initially. Though the new windshield did not have horizontal warping, it still had significant vertical warping. The center 1/3 of the new windshield is fine, but the 1/3's on either side are very warped so much so that fences, posts, etc "wave" as you drive past them. We feel the quality of glass they use is very cheap and the fact that they were trying to deny any warps in the first windshield was a big disappointment, especially considering we had to come out of our way for the repair. They did not seem concerned about customer satisfaction. They did not have any comments on what we should do if the new windshield had issues. After putting up with the windshield for a while we are now wanting to warn other potential customers. The time alone involved in this has been a hassle. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND. WARNING: they insisted that "warping on edges is completely normal". The warping on our windshield is NOT minor. Go with someone else! They may have a good price being a smaller company, but there is a reason. Stay away.
