My water heater, located in my garage, broke on Sunday evening, April 20th. I didn't find the water until the afternoon of the following day. As I have many boxes stored in my garage, my heart just sunk. A neighbor suggested the name of a plumber that would give me a 'great price' as I live on a very fixed income. I called, and was quoted between $1200 and $1400 for new 40 gallon water heater. I just more or less went into shock at the quote, as it's been many years since I've bought a new water heater. I made the appointment for the following morning for a new installation. I guess I could call it intuition, but on Monday evening I kept thinking that I could find something better. I called the plumber back and asked that the appointment be moved to Thursday morning instead. In the meantime, I calmed down and began to search Angie's List. Valley Plumbing came up with a 5-star rating for quality, price, value and workmanship. That's all I needed to read. I called Valley Plumbing and everything clicked into place. (I then called and cancelled the job with the other plumber.) The plumber's name from Valley Plumbing was Tom, and I would recommend him to anyone that has plumbing problems. He was on time, very professional, explained exactly what he was doing, worked hard and diligently for the next two and a half hours. When Tom finished, I had a nice new water heater and everything he did was completely up to code. The bill for Valley Plumbing and a new Bradford White water heater was nearly $400.00 less than I had been quoted by the other plumber. Now that's a savings!
