NEW WORLD TITLE CO

The title company sent a representative to settlement who rushed through all the documents and was very disorganized. I specifically told her my husband and I were not first time home buyers at settlement. Something that had been known to all parties since day 1. Four days after settlement I received a call from this title company that they accidentally checked the first time home buyer box on the settlement papers. Due to this I now owe an additional $900+ dollars to the title company which I must pay or they will not file the papers for my home. The woman, Juli, made no apologies for her companies error and gave me the impression their agency makes these kinds of errors frequently. I was told it was "no big deal". Well maybe not to this company who offered me no compensation for their error, but to me $900 is a lot of money. If the title company had not made this error this fee would have been rolled into my loan - which is what I had requested. Now due to the carelessness of this title company I have to try to scrape up an additional $900 while also incurring the costs of purchasing and new home. Don't use this company if you want a smooth settlement!!
