I found his little shop and left my I Pad there for 1 hour.. We went across the street and had a nice lunch. Came back and job was done. The person name Danell and very nice. I will use his service again.

I went to PHD Fix to get my iPad Mini's cracked screen replaced. The repair resulted in catastrophic battery and power issues with the tablet.On December 25th 2013 I dropped my Apple iPad Mini and the screen cracked. I went online and found PHD Fix, I should have researched the and quot;businessand quot; further before taking it to get repaired a couple days after the new year (early January). I gave the technician, Daniel, $170 dollars to repair the screen. I originally had a white screen on it; he said he only had black screens. I asked if having a different colored screen would make a difference in the tech and he said it would still work right. The PHD Fix website says the repairs are done within a day. I asked if I could pick it up the next day and Daniel said and quot;yes that's fineand quot;. I wasn't able to make it until a couple days later. I came by to pick up my iPad but it had trouble turning on, the screen was barely attached, and the battery indicator was no longer working properly. I tried to look past the issues but the screen would turn off and on by itself. Just trying to use it was getting frustrating and annoying. I called up Daniel in mid-late January and explained what was going on; he said he would fix these problems at no extra cost. Three weeks later (mid February) after leaving it with him I drove out to his shop. I was told me he needed to put and quot;a new chipand quot; in the iPad. So I left and I called a week later (late February), he said I could come pick it up, so I drove out to Lutherville AGAIN. The screen was attached properly now, how it should have been the first time, how the website advertises. Once I brought it home the iPad would not charge even after letting it charge over night. Daniel told me I should reset it, which I tried to do, but the tablet keeps turning itself off. Because of this I cannot complete the reset process. A couple weeks ago (early March) I went back to his shop to demand my $170 back. He said the new screen was $100 so I had to settle for $70 because I refuse to let him do any more damage to my iPad. It has been sitting on my desk in a box collecting dust ever since. I can't even power it on now to even attempt to continue the reset process.

This was my second time using PHD Fix services. First they repaired a broken IPad screen. This time a problem with my laptop starting up properly was fixed. Both times the service was timely and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this shop.

The repair service went very well. Dropped off the laptop with a bad LCD screen and it was recommended that a replacement be installed. Got a phone call less than 2 hours later saying the job was done, and the laptop works perfectly again. Would use again for future computer fixes.

My daughter dropped her IPhone on the ground and shattered her screen on Christmas Eve. We took the phone to PHD Repair on 12/26. We dropped it off, left our name and nothing else, which made me a little uneasy. However, we came back about an hour later, paid $85 and the screen is as good as new. It was a fast, painless, and successful experience!

I had replaced the defective screen in the laptop, but had messed up the delicate connection when trying to attach the cable to the display. PHD Fix obtained a new cable and installed. If I had it to do over again, I would have taken the unit to PHD Fix for the entire repair, because his prices for screen replacement are quite reasonable. I ended up spending more between buying the screen and then taking to PHD Fix for the cable repair than I would have just taking the unit to him for a full screen replacement. Lesson learned!

I had dropped my iPad and shattered the glass screen. I searched for a repair option and after being told that apple would only replace the iPad, I called PhdFix after an Internet search for a local provider who could repair the screen. I was a bit wary of an unknown computer repair shop since they hadn't been reviewed here on Angie's List, but I needed my iPad repaired and I needed it fast. The shop was a little cluttered but about what I'd expected from a small operation. The gentleman who greeted me assured me that it would be no problem to fix the screen and make it like new. He asked me to sit at a computer and put my name and phone number in and he generated a receipt for me and out the door I went. I received a phone call two and a half hours later informing me that my iPad was done. When I arrived I was greeted with a brand new screen that was crystal clear and worked flawlessly. Only minor ripples in the seal surrounding the screen were evidence of the screen being replaced and couldn't see them but I could feel them when I ran my fingers over the edge. It has been a week with heavy use and the screen works perfectly. I'm very happy with the quality of the repair and I think the cost was reasonable given the delicate nature of the repair. I would definitely use PhD Fx again if I have another issue with my iPad or computer.
