HFC

In general, my wife and I agree that our experience with HFC was not unlike dealing with a pushy car salesman and his manager(s). After collecting our information over the phone, HFC insisted we meet in person to discuss their products, and they would not work over the phone. They had all of our personal information and knew what our goals were. If they had not been able to help us, we would have appreciated a simple "I'm sorry, we aren't able to help you right now" like other lenders had provided. Instead, we made an appointment and met with them after work. Even after repeatedly explaining that we were simply seeking a better interest rate with minimal closing costs and *not* a lower payment, they simply kept offering us everything but what we sought. Aside from the fact that their proposal was *not* a good fit for us and would have cost us a lot of money, HFC did not listen and simply tried to "show" us one way or another we could have more money in our pockets at the end of every month. When we showed reluctance, the salesman, A.J., would leave the office for my wife and I to discuss his most recent proposal. To make it even more high-pressure and car-sales-like, after A.J. had not secured the deal, his manager came in and attempted to "clarify" and explain why we were getting a good offer. After we left, over the next few weeks, HFC continued to call and offer better rates, but still with high fees that explicitly did not fit our needs.
