Bill Gilde Electrical Service

Mr Gilde was hired by us for the installation of our stand by generator. He outbid other competitor by offering us a Military Discount. During installation of the generator Mr Gilde ensured us that a permit would be standard to have but only would cost us more and at the end only serves the county for tax evaluation purposes. As per his unprofessional recommendation we did not ask Mr Glide to obtain a permit since he stated we could get the permit afterwards at any time.
Recently we decide for insurance purpose to get the permit, this is when we found out that Mr Glide did not meet NEC ( National Electrician Code) nor the NFPA ( National Fire Protection Association) which requires the generator to be installed 5ft away from any structural combustibles walls.
After contacting Mr Glide and offering him to have his malfunction work corrected we were very surprised to face aggressive opposition and an 100% price increase for the cost of the permit. We assume the increase of the permit is to cover the cost of the necessary emplacement of our generator to meet NEC and NFPA.
We are currently filing an official complaint with the Department of Commerce and Insurance and preparing legal actions to get our costs of the emplacement refunded. 

Mr. Gilde was very professional in his approach. We began discussing the project and he came out to the house for an estimate. Within a few days he submitted a proposal detailing what needed to be done and what supplies he would need or supply. This took a lot of the guess work out of the process.
On the day of the job, he arrived a few minutes early and went straight to work. He hit a few unexpected bumps along the way, but was willing to deal with them as necessary. Part of the job I imagine since you cannot see through walls. The ceiling fan was installed, the wall was patched, and they were on their way in roughly three hours.
Mr. Gilde returned the next day after his scheduled hours to sand, paint, and check on the status of the project. I found him to be very accommodating with my busy schedule. He even came back another time to reinstall a curtain rod he had to remove when cutting into the wall.
Overall it was a great experience for a very reasonable price. Other electricians were charging between 250 and 500, which did not include patching the wall. I'm glad that I decided to go with Mr. Gilde!
