truck rentals
+ -1 moreSTAFF OK, EXCEPT FOR ONE, AND THE POLICY OF NOT GIVING YOU A RECEIPT . HONOR SYSTEM IS OK WITH ME, BUT DONT HAVE ME SIGN A CONTRACT
Description of Work: NOT CERTAIN IF THE LOCATION IS A PARTICULAR FRANCHISE OR HEADQUARTERS./ REVIEW IS MEANT FOR U HAUL OF FALLS CHURCH. USED THEM BEFORE BUT NOT COMFORTABLE WITH RETURNING VEHICLE AND BEING TOLD "YOU ARE GOOD TO GO". IE NO RECEIPT, AND EXPOSED TO RISK. I ASK PERSON CHECKING VEHICLE FOR RECEIPT AND HE TELLS ME i will get it in email. i go into office and have to wait in line for more than one hour, while my wife is waiting in the car on a hot day. more importantly. when i picked up vehicle, i was asked about insurance and since my cr card co did not cover moving vehilcles, i purchased it. I then noticed what appeared to be a deductible. i asked abou it, and was told, "if you scratch the van, and you come in, you just walk away" did not know what it meant.asked again, and she repeated same. i pointed to 150 deductible, and was told it covers the other vehicle. i advised, that that is liability, not collission. she repeated same, i repeated same. then, SHE STATED, 'YOU DONT WANT INSURANCE, I WILL TAKE IT OFF" I PERISTED THAT I WANTED INSURUANCE, BACK AND FORTH. I ASKED FOR MANAGER, SHE WENT OVER TO CLERK NEXT TO HER, CAME BACK, AND IT ENDED UP HER SAYING, " I THOUGHT YOU WERE RENTING A TRUCK NOT A VAN, I WAS TALKING INSURANCE ABOUT A TRUCK." GO FIGURE. NO MAS NON MAS. I DONT WANT TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE THAT DO NOT KNOW THEIR JOB, TAKING MY MONEY AND ARE RUDE, BUT AGAIN, I DONT WANT TO DEAL WITH MORONS.

moving companies, truck rentals
+ 0 moreI can;t seem to figure out how to make this rating. At least three companies were involved. The reservation was made on-line, Packing materials were also purchased on-line, the truck was rented in Lexington Park, MD and dropped off in Seattle. The truck itself was in good condition and worked well. There was a minor problem with the windshield wiper blade, but it was fixed by a U-Haul agency enroute. U-Haul was supposed to arrange for loading/unloading help at each end. The loading help was good. However, the unloading help in Seattle didn't show up. I had to pick up casual laborers from a Home Depot lot. There was supposed to be a month's storage at the unloading end which was not arranged. This cost an extra $220. Further, U-Haul advertises that you can return the unused boxes. What they don't tell you is you have to drive several hours to a regional center to return them, I'd recommend the truck rental (Rate as a "B"), but not the other services (Rate as a "D") I had planned to rent a second truck for the balance of the move, but decided to hire a professional moving company instead.
Description of Work: I hired a U-Haul truck and trailer to move about 2500 lbs of books and furniture from Southern Maryland to Washington state. I also arranged for loading help in Maryland and unloading help in Washington. The truck rental was to include a month's free storage.
