SEAN PATRICK'S PET SPA

THIS REVIEW I'M DOING IS TO LET IT BE KNOWN THAT IN SEAN PATRICK'S PET SPA, ANIMAL ABUSE DOES OCCUR. ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 24th, 2016 I TOOK MY SHIH TZU, MICAH TO GET GROOMED BY STACY (THE ONE THAT WEARS ROUND EYEGLASSES AND HER HAIR UP IN A PONYTAIL WITH A BRAID THAT'S LOOPED UP). STACY DID NOT HESITATE ON HITTING MICAH SEVERAL TIMES ON THE HEAD THEN ON THE BACK OF HIS NECK. TWO OTHER GROOMERS (SARA AND KATHY) AND THE CASHIER (AMY) WERE THERE. THEY ALL WITNESSED THIS AND DID NOTHING TO MAKE IT STOP. AS I WATCHED ON THE LIVE WEB CAMERA ON THEIR WEBSITE THROUGH MY PHONE I IMMEDIATELY GRABBED ANOTHER PHONE AND CALLED TO MAKE THIS PATHETIC LOW LIFE STOP HITTING MICAH. AMY ANSWERED AND LIED TO ME ABOUT "NOT SEEING ANYTHING THAT THERE WAS NO DOG GETTING HIT AND HOW SHE HAD JUST WALKED IN", WHEN THE WHOLE TIME I WAS LOOKING AT HER ON CAMERA. SHE'S NOT HARD TO MISS AND IS SUCH A LIER. AS I WAS TOLD TO HOLD BY AMY, I HEARD SOMEONE IN THE BACKGROUND YELL SOMETHING OUT LOUD AND SAW STACY GRAB MICAH AND RUSHED OUT OF THE GROOMING AREA INTO THE BACK ROOM. BEHIND HER WAS KATHY THEN SARA, SARA PUT AWAY A WHITE FLUFFY LONG HAIRED CAT WHO SHE WAS GROOMING AND STARTED CLEANING HER STATION UP QUICKLY AND LEFT. I SPOKE TO THE MANAGER (SEAN) WHO WAS TRYING TO SUGARCOAT THINGS AND CONVINCE ME "THAT STACY HAD PATTED MICAH'S HEAD AND NOT HIT HIM AND THAT HE WOULD TAKE LOOK AT THE VIDEO SO WE COULD TALK ABOUT IT ONCE I GOT THERE". WHEN I GOT THERE HE TOLD ME "HE HAD WATCHED THE VIDEO AND THAT YES IN FACT STACY HAD HIT MICAH AND THAT I SHOULD NOT RE-WATCH THE VIDEO FOR I MIGHT GET EVEN MORE UPSET AND HOW HE HAD SPOKEN ABOUT THIS TO STACY BEFORE". HE ALSO ASKED ME "IF I THOUGHT HE SHOULD FIRE STACY"? HE SHOULD ASK HIMSELF THAT QUESTION, NOT ME! DOES HE WANT TO CONTINUE HAVING AN ANIMAL ABUSER ON HIS TEAM? DOES HE WANT A TEAM THAT SEES AN ANIMAL GETTING ABUSED AND NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT? IT'S HIS BUSINESS IN JEOPARDY NOT MINES, IT'S HIS REPUTATION NOT MINES. IF HE DECIDES TO CONTINUE HAVING PATHETIC LOW LIFES LIKE THAT AT HIS SHOP, THAT WILL END UP IN HIS LOSS. MICAH DID NOTHING TO DESERVE THAT. I REPLAY IT AND REPLAY IT AND REPLAY IT OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND DON'T SEE MICAH DOING ANYTHING WRONG. HE DID NOTHING TO DESERVE THAT KIND OF TREATMENT. THAT NIGHT TILL EARLY THE NEXT MORNING HE KEPT COUGHING AND HAD EPISODES IN WHICH HE WAS SHAKEN A LOT. IT'S GOING TO BE A WEEK ON WEDNESDAY SINCE THIS OCCURRED AND MICAH IS NOT THE SAME HAPPY PUP. HE'S QUIET AND FEELING LOW, HE'S NOT HIMSELF. I WONDER IF SHE DID ANYTHING ELSE TO HIM? (WHERE THERE AREN'T CAMERAS) WHEN SHE HEARD ME ON THE PHONE AND RUSHED OUT OF THE ROOM WITH HIM. IF SHE DID NOT HESITATE ON HITTING HIM SEVERAL TIMES WHILE BEING RECORDED I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THE CRAP SHE DOES WHEN THERE'S NO CAMERAS ROLLING. DO THESE MONSTERS NOT THINK ABOUT HOW ANIMALS ARE FRAGILE, HOW THEIR BONES CAN GET DISLOCATED EASILY OR BREAK? HOW ANIMALS HAVE FEELINGS TOO? HOW IT'S STRESSFUL AND OVER WHELMING FOR THEM TO BE AWAY FROM HOME, AWAY FROM THEIR FAVORITE PERSON, IN A PLACE WHERE THERE'S A LOT OF NOISE FROM MACHINES AND OTHER ANIMALS WHO MAY FEEL STRESSED OUT AS WELL. WHERE THERE'S A LOT OF MOVEMENT GOING ON, WHERE THEY HAVE TO GET HANDLED/GROOMED BY A TOTAL STRANGER WHO INSTEAD OF MAKING THAT MOMENT MORE CALMING FOR THEM DECIDES TO HIT THEM. THAT IS JUST UNACCEPTABLE! WOULD THEY LIKE IT IF SOMEONE MISTREATED THEIR PETS? STACY NEVER SAID SHE WAS SORRY TO MICAH OR TO ME, WHICH SAYS A LOT. SHE IS VERY LUCKY I REACTED THE WAY I DID. THE MANAGER, SEAN PATRICK KEPT SAYING HOW "MICAH WASN'T HURT AND HOW HE WAS FINE." IN OTHER WORDS IF THERE'S NO BROKEN BONES OR BLOOD HE'S GOOD TO GO. THAT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING, IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT ANIMALS YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS WORKING WITH THEM, BEING AROUND THEM OR OWNING THEM. THE REST, SARA, AMY AND KATHY IF YOU ALL WITNESS THIS AND AND DID NOTHING TO MAKE IT STOP THAT MAKES ME BELIEVE YOU ALL DO THE SAME TOO! FOR ANYONE ELSE READING THIS I RECOMMEND YOU TO JUST BUY A GROOMING KIT AND GROOM YOUR PET ON YOUR OWN. I RATHER HAVE MY PUP WITH A FUNNY HAIR CUT INSTEAD OF ALLOWING SOME MONSTER TO ABUSE IT. IF YOU CONTINUE TAKING YOUR PET TO THIS PLACE OR ANY OTHER PLACE ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO RECORD LIKE I DO BEFORE YOU DROP THEM OFF, CHECK THEM THROUGHLY AND NOTICE HOW THEY'RE FEELING THAT DAY AND DO THE SAME WHEN YOU PICK THEM UP. CHECK THEIR BODY TO ME SURE THERE'S NO CUTS AND EVEN A DAY OR FEW DAYS LATER KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR BRUISING JUST IN CASE YOUR PET DOES GET ABUSED GOD FORBID. IF YOU NOTICE A CHANGE IN THEIR PERSONALITY, IF THEY ARE FEELING LOW, QUIET AND WHAT NOT. CHANCES ARE THAT YOUR FUR BABY IS GETTING ABUSED AT THE GROOMERS. AS MUCH AS I LOVED THIS PLACE FOR THE GROOMING SKILLS, I WILL NO LONGER BE TAKING MICAH TO SEAN PATRICK'S EVER AGAIN. FOR THOSE OF YOU IN WHICH I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO I APOLOGIZE.

Sean Patrick is an elite establishment when it comes to grooming your pet dog.  They focus on quality and really care for the dogs they groom.  Expect to pay a premium for their services as they take their job (and your dog) very serious.  Its not a knock on them -- but understand it is pricier than other places (Hey, even the cologne they use for the dogs is high-end).  Above all, we really like their attention to detail and their willingness to do everything in their power to accomodate our requests.

They took time to explain their services and answer questions.  I am happy with the job they did.  I was a little apprehensive about going to a new groomer because one of my dogs is still relatively new to me and came from a puppy mill situation, so tends to be very fearful in new environments.  I have used the same groomer for my dogs for about 10 years and both dogs are used to her, but I was unable to coordinate schedules with her this time, so had to find someone else.  Everyone at Sean Patrick's was understanding and patient with me under the circumstances.  Although I plan to continue to use my regular groomer whenever possible, since Sean Patrick's is closer to my home and has more convenient hours, I'm sure I will use them in the future whenever I can't get an appointment with my regular groomer.
The one thing that I thought was a little strange was the fact that although the drop-off sheet gives owners the option of having their pets' anal gland expressed - something that in my experience is very common for groomers to perform - the form states that they recommend checking no.  It didn't surprise me that they gave pet owners the option, but stating that they recommend checking no made me think it's a service they're not comfortable performing, so I opted not to have them do it even though it really needed to be done.

My dogs are Lhasa Apsos and I keep them in full coat.  The owner, Sean Patrick, worked on one of them and cut her all the way down because he said her legs were matted.  She looked horrible!  My other dog was groomed by an employee and she was uneven.  If your dog is in full coat (long), this is not the place for you and your doggie.

They took me as a walk-in. They were very nice and fast.

My dog looked fantastic when I got there to pick him up. They even had him finished well before they said he would be done.

This was my first time using Sean Patrick to groom our standard poodle puppy. In fact, it was the first time I have ever taken a dog to a groomer. Sean made me feel very comfortable as did the rest of the staff. It was also nice to see that he has two beautiful standards of his own. He was very informative and conveyed a sense of trust and integrity. Everyone was very good with the dog. Our pup came out looking GREAT and exactly as we had discussed. This turned out to be a much better experience than I had anticipated and I got the impression that the pup was quite happy there. The price was well within the bounds of reasonable and comparable to (or less) than others I had compared when making the decision to go to Sean Patrick. I will definitely go back again and have already made the next appointment.

My dog has a reputation for not cooperating with those trying to groom her. Sean was not daunted. My dog had a beautiful hair cut,  even on both sides. She was brushed and wearing hair bows when I picked her up.  She didn't seem the least bit traumatized and I can feel comfortable taking her there again.

It was pretty good to get an appointment there. There is nothing I like any better or worse than any other dog groomer. They did everything that I asked them to do. Their price was fair.

I was very happy with their cuts and I was impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff.  They are my new go to groomers.

They did a fine job on my 2 dogs but they used to have a discount for scheduling in advance and bringing dogs during the week and it really helped w/the cost.  That stopped in Jan 2014.  Boo!  The grooming and people are really nice though; and you can check them out on their webcam while they're working on your babies.

They are very good.  We weren't satisfied with the quality of the service of other places until we came here.  They have a video surveilance system so you could see everything that was going on while they were grooming my dog.  I have already recommended them to some of neighbors.  They have a free range grooming floor where they can play and lay on couches as well instead of sticking them in a kennel.  They also micro chipped my dog for a small fee.  They have several trustworthy groomers at their facility.  The first time we went in, the owner did it, but they have several groomers that we've used since.

My dog does not like to be groomed, but Sean is magical. My dog does not object to going there and she comes home looking well groomed, with her hair beautifully cut & brushed.

It was the first time I had used them. I called them I would be a little late which they were more than accommodating with. They were very professional. We worked out a time that worked well with my schedule. When I arrived to pick my dog up, she was very happy to see me and seemed very relaxed. She looked great. I've rebooked to use them again.

My dogs like it here. Compared to other places they arent scared when they walk in. We have been using Sean Patrick for about 2 years. We have a shitzu mix as well as a terrier mix that we actually adopted from Sean. All of the employees truly care about animals. The shop is clean and modern. They actually groom the dogs in an area where you can see and this makes me much more comfortable. I can honestly always tell the difference if I take them here vs. any other shop. The products used must be top notch, because my dogs hair is super soft, their cuts are even and appropriate for the breed. I think this is by far the best groomer in Laurel.

I have used several other groomers in my area and so far I have not found anyone I have been totally satisfied with. I 
have a long hair chihuahua, they are difficult to cut but my lil prince looks great. Patrick was a pleasure to meet as well as his staff. I especially love the web cam. I can see whats going on without being there.I recommend them and will be taking my lil prince back soon

Extremley pleased with the grooming today on our two Soft Coated Wheaton Terriers.  First time there and went after finding them on Angie's List- close to office and able to watch on web cam.  Very well done breed standard (almost) cut.  They were well cared for and not overly anxious.  Will definitely go again- 10% off when you rebook at time of service (weekdays only).  I am VERY picky and  this recommendation is without reserve.
