I called Poist Gas to supply my propane tank for the heating season.  We negotiated terms, and they filled my tank through April of that season.  In November, I received a call from Poist.  The customer service rep asked me for payment.  I asked her for what service, and she told me they filled my tank that day.  Since my agreement only went through the previous season, I asked her at what price are they charging me.  She told me $4.25/gallon.  After asking how they came to that price, I was forwarded to a sales manager, Gene Edwards.  He told me that they made a mistake and would only charge me $2.29/gallon.  I asked why they were even filling my tank.  He responded that they sent me a letter in June stating the continuation of our agreement at a new fill rate of $2.29/gallon. I told him that I never recieved a letter, and since our old agreement explicitly terminated in April, this hardly represents a firm contract.  He told me that he's successfully sent numerous people to collection agencies on this method and would do the same to me if I don't pay.  After hearing his threat, I terminated my business relationship.  Fortunately, I was able to find Economy Propane, a reliable competitor, to fill my tank at $2.10/gallon.

Poist was the lower bid by a substantial margin.  I needed a quick response since they had to bid & execute before a concrete
contractor poured a new deck.  Poist hurried out (within 24 hours) to create a bid.  They were only a bit slow in executing due to a severe weather situation that was clearly putting all propane companies under pressure (power outages & interrupted propane deliveries).  Final price was $25 over agreed bid, but still well below competitor & quite reasonable given the scale of the enterprise.
These are good guys.  Give them your business.

They have the best rates for propane, and did excellent work.  They are a one stop shop, they do it all. 

I have two large tanks used to heat my pool. Poist has been my gas company for years. Never a problem and never ran empty on the tanks. They may be higher on price than some companies.
