Had a leak, replaced roof at their suggestion. Service was prompt.

Misgiving is that I contacted him today regarding a leak in the same spot. Was told they're no longer in the area and that the roof is not under warranty. I find this puzzling because I see recent reviews here for the provider so I would have thought they'd at least come by and taken a look.

He did a great job. He didn't charge you anything for it. He was here about a half hour. He's a nice guy. I would give him a perfect score on everything.

The installation of the roof went fine, but it is frustrating that he has not responded to my phone calls and emails recently.

Came to house on day stated and completed the job same day with two helpers. Double coated paint. and cme back later when I called when a roof tile came off in a wind.

My gutter were ripped off during the 2010 blizzard. They were super responsive and affordable. I have since used them to do work on my roof. Great and prompt work and extremely affordable.

I researched Mr. James McDonald on Angie's list and he received high marks. He also has painted other homes in my neighborhood. I called him to request that he check my roof and gutters. He was very prompt and wasted no time inspecting the roof and nailing down a few loose shingles. I was happy to hear that my gutters and downspouts were clear!
When I asked about painting the exterior, he gave me a quote and told me exactly what he and his crew would do if I decided to hire them. His quote was substantially lower than one I had previously been given by another painter! He let me choose a color and offered his advice when I asked for it. The same day he power washed the house and we made an appointment for the next day, since the weather was hot and dry.
Jim McDonald is a very down to earth professional. He and his crew arrived the next day, on time and ready for work. They were extremely polite and careful with my shrubs, light fixtures and deck. The workmanship was excellent. The house looks amazing!
I asked him for a flyer in case I ever need his services again. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a good painter or have their roof inspected.

Mr. McDonald quoted me two different prices based on two different options for the repairs. He didn't automatically try to sell me a new roof. In fact, he told me my roof was only half way through it's life. I appreciated that greatly as I had previously been given an estimate for a new roof by another company who said I needed a new roof immediately. I'd call Mr. McDonald again with no hesitation!

They were prompt, told me exacly what was needed and did a follow up with me.

I paid them once to come out, but they have come out 3-4 times now to deal with the same issue. But they haven't charged anything extra; I am quite pleased with that. I would use them again in the future.

They were a great company to deal with and I was pleased with the service they provided. I would use them again in the future if need be. The crew was on time and clean which showed their professionalism. I would recommend them to anyone in the future as a quality company.

Initially, I had a little trouble getting a call back response . After, I was contacted, the representative proved to be very knowledgeable and explained in detail the steps they would take to correct the rotting issue of th sub roof so it would not
continue to be a problem . He showed me the products to be used and presented me with a very good price for the work to
be done .

I called James Mcdonald to get an estimate for roof repairs after the severe storms we had earlier that month-I had a leak off and on for about 6 years other roofers could never fix, but the storm really caused it to flood in-James and his crew showed up and identified the problem within 20 minutes,and also offered me a more economical solution than any other roofer I had talked to,everybody wanted to sell me a complete new roof for a lot more money which was not in my budget-Jim and his crew showed up the next day and removed and replaced all damaged wood and reroofed the section expertly and came in $300 less than estimated which totally and pleasantly suprised me-since the job was completed we have had a lot of rain, I have not had a drop of water anywhere in my home-james was polite and took the time to explain every detail of what was wrong and how he dealt with it-his crew was friendly and super hard working-I have total confidence in Mr Mcdonald and would recommend him to anyone

The company's representative showed up on time to assess the situation and provide me with an estimate. I already knew that I wanted a rubber roof, but he was able to provide me with much more detail than I usually expect from a contractor about the materials used, the methods and the work schedule (I am used to guys who don't feel like they should explain anything technical to the homeowner, and that we should just be grateful that they show up and do the job--I always like to know why a certain material should be used, for example, and the JMR rep was refreshingly thorough and forthright). The estimate felt a bit high at first, but my expectations were probably undereducated and incorrect--and I've had so many bad contractor experiences that I was happy to pay what they asked to get a solid roof and reliable service in return. He worked with me on the price, and I have no regrets.

The estimate was given on a Wednesday, and I was told that work would begin that Friday and finish on Saturday, before the rain arrived on Sunday. The crew actually showed up a day early, on Thursday, and unloaded some materials and chiseled off the aforementioned raised edge. While the noise was somewhat unexpected early in the morning and startled me awake, I quickly realized what was going on and was totally fine that they were starting early (I don't trust the weather forecasts).

I should mention that this was during the worst of the July heat wave. So the first day, they started around 7:00am and stayed a couple of hours, and the second day start time was something like 6:30am. I had to go to jury duty that second day and was expecting them to be at it for some time after I left, and was shocked to get a call at about 10:00am saying that they were completely done (good for them! I didn't want anyone dying from heat exhaustion up on my roof in 107 degree weather!).

I checked out their work when I got home, and everything seemed to have been done according to what had been described to me. The foreman had been very communicative with my boyfriend, who was home at the time, explaining each little point that he thought might give me pause, and reassuring the boyfriend that if we had any problems at all, just to call and they would come out to fix them.

Sunday's rain arrived on schedule and nothing leaked! Almost three weeks in now and still no leaks, and the material and their work looks to be holding up perfectly. Thanks James McDonald Roofing! and lt;and lt;double thumbs-upand gt;and gt;

It was professional a job overall.

They arrived on time and did an excellent job . I felt comfortable enough to leave them for a few hours and leave my house
unlocked .

I had a leak in my roof and Mr. McDonald was able to patch it, put new rubber on the shoddy job of sealing done before by another company 5 years ago, secure and fix my gutters and paint the roof and roof over my front porch white. This occurred all in the same day that I called for the estimate. Incredible speed and professionalism. I cannot recommend this company enough!

I had called a number of roofers to get estimates, some didn't show up at all, some showed up late, some came out to survey the job and never called back, James was by far the most responsive and customer-oriented roofer. We have already referred our neighbor to him. We are very happy with the quality of the work, I would definitely use him again.
