Didn't go well. Painters were sloppy and got paint on my storm door, vinyl window trim, and on the aluminum siding. They also missed a lot of spots on the trim even though they put on two coats of paint. Scratched up my brand new downspouts. The quote also included patching as needed but of course they didn't patch. They did come out and correct their mistakes but it was still a hassle to deal with. I was unable to communicate with the painters since I don't speak Spanish. Crew leader is bilingual but he wasn't on site very much. Specified a particular paint quality (a certain brand which was also specified in the quote) but a lower quality was used; unfortunately I didn't discover that until the painting was completed. Certa Pro told me they got charged by the paint vendor for the higher quality (not sure how that's possible, or how the crew leader managed to pick up the wrong paint). Haven't gotten an invoice yet so I don't know yet if they credited me the difference. Overall, a very disappointing experience since when I hire a contractor I expect the job to be done right the first time.
Response from CertaPro Painters® of The Baltimore Washington
"We at CertaPro Painters pride ourselves on our customer service. If something slips by unnoticed, we return as soon as possible and complete any and all touch-ups that are necessary. At the start of the work, the customer is introduced to the foreman and told that he is the one to answer any questions. The crew is aware that is not their place. This has never been an issue because the foreman is only ever briefly absent from a project and, if there is an issue that needs immediate attention. the associate who has been working with the client or our office personnel are always available by phone to answer questions or personally stop by the job (something that was done in this case). This is the first time in 11 years of working with this foreman that we received feedback that he was argumentative. Upon talking with the foreman, he did indeed tell me that he informed this customer that some areas pointed out were not in fact paint drips but were bird droppings. He attempted to give explanations for the other questions but never felt he was argumentative and, as he has always done, immediately set to work to take care of any issues. Furthermore, this man speaks English very well and yes, he does have to make a trip to the paint store occasionally for supplies; this is a necessity but, for the vast majority of the time, he is working alongside his dedicated crew. Lastly, the customer did correctly identify that a different paint than originally quoted was used for her project. However, this was not a result of any "bait and switch" tactic as is implied by the customer's comments. Paint is picked up at the store by job name. Unfortunately, the wrong type of the same brand of paint, was supplied by the paint company instead of what we had ordered for this project. The paint we used, however, is very high quality, retails for over $50/gallon, has a 25 year warranty, and is a paint we have used successfully for many years. Upon realizing the paint mistake, we immediately reduced the price of the project to reflect the cost of the paint. Again, we apologize to this customer and regret that she had a bad experience but this is an extreme rarity as we are consistently rated with a plus 90% referral rate by an independent customer rating agency. This is due to the fact that we do strive to be the best in both performance and customer service."

Chris worked to make sure that the job was done to my specifications. Everything was professionally done. Workers cleaned up after their labors each day. The staining was accomplished with my criteria, which was for a moderately dark semi-transparent stain that allowed the variations and grain of the natural cedar to be viewed. I was very pleased with what was accomplished for my home. The staining looks natural and blends nicely with our wooded, naturalistic landscape. They were somewhat cautious about applying a semi-transparent stain as the siding is older and has darkened over time but we worked together to achieve results that pleased us both. I was impressed that they were concerned that it hold up and look great. We did it. While I might have to use a different stain next time, I was happy that I could get the look that I wanted.

I had used CertaPro Painters a few years ago to paint the outside trim on my house.  They did a very good job so I contracted with them to paint our living room, hallway, stairs, landing, ceiling and foyer.  We have double high ceilings in the living room which made for more complicated job.  Chris, the owner of the company, came within two days of my calling to measure and give me an estimate which was less than two other companies I contacted.  Once I had chosen the color of paint,  they arrived within a week to do the work.  Chris came with two workers at 7:00 in the morning, our agreed start time.  In less than a day they painted the entire area, including two coats of a darker color on an accent wall.  They protected all the floors and furniture.  All the furniture was back in place at the completion of the job.  The end result is very satisfactory.

They were very prompt and accommodating especially when it came to choosing the paint colors, which they allowed a change up to the day before the job.  They did a phenomenal job! The completed project is exactly as I hoped it would be and they cleaned up, leaving the place just as they found it.  I would highly recommend Chris and his crew.

My experience with CertaPro Painters of The Baltimore Washington Corr was perfect. They do a great job. They finish on time and did it in a week and a half, with a six man crew. They came on time and left on time. They did everything. They cleaned the house and everything. They didn't leave anything. Everyday, they took their paints out. My house was empty at that time, but they covered up some things that were there. It got a formal quote and it was way, way, over way pricey. Considering their experience and painters, I just said, "Your money is worth it."

From our initial meeting with Chris Piana to the conclusion of the painting, CertaPro did an excellent job.  We met with Chris to provide an estimate and to discuss the colors we wanted to us.  He provided a quote in a timely fashion and worked with us to select the colors.
The painters arrived on the scheduled date and did an excellent job.  The Project Manager, Percy remained on the job the entire time working closely with the other painters to ensure all details were met.  He made some recommendations for adjustments that could be made to ensure the walls were perfect.  They all took great pride in their work and wanted to be sure they provided a quality project.
We plan on using CertaPro for other projects in our home.

I contracted with CertaPro Painters to paint all the trim (fascia, soffit, window boxes ) on my home. Additionally, they painted a large front portico which has (6) twelve inch diameter two story Georgian Columns, the front portico ceiling and the (double) front door. All of these surfaces were painted with Sherwin Williams Exterior Duration Paint (all gloss except for front door). Finally, they painted 20 exterior metal lamps with Sherwin Williams DTM paint. Chris Piana, the owner, provided the estimate and he was as pleasant and helpful as he could be. He provided me a start date which he stuck to and worked with my roofers schedule such that the existing gutters could be removed from the fascia by the roofers first and then completing his work  prior to the scheduled (new) gutter installation. Finally, Percy, the crew supervisor was professional and he took a hands on approach to managing his crew of 5 painters. His painters were top notch and they cleaned up after themselves. They stuck to budget with the only add on being for some fascia board  which was rotten (and which I was shown prior to replacement).  I would definitely recommend them again. They offer a two year warranty on their painting. Their bid was quite competitive.

The painter who did the work, Felipe, did an excellent job.  He showed up on time, was very pleasant and professional, and had all the proper equipment and paint that was needed.  When finished, he cleaned everything up neatly and left me with a beautiful deck that I love!

Everyone involved came when they said they would from the estimate to the days the work was performed.  The estimate was detailed so there were no surprises. They called with a last minute cancellation and held the spot until we could work it out with our work schedules. We have crown molding and decorative trim work which were painted with a different color than the walls.  This turned out nicely. The one thing we weren't happy about is that there were some tiny paint spatters on our hard wood floor.  Most of these came off, but I had voiced my concern about paint spots ahead of time(I was concerned about new carpet we had just had installed). There were also some small dents in the walls which were not patched (all the big imperfections were fixed). Overall we were happy with the work.  It is the first time we had hired painters instead of doing it ourselves.  Except for the cost difference we were happy we did.

Chris Piana, his foreman percy and the crew were really incredible. Very happy to recommend a contractor that does more than I thought, did it well and with great courtesy. So great to have them on the property taking care of it. I feel very comfortable also with their straight-forward guarantees. I HIGHLY recommend these guys.

They painted a brick house and it came out beautifully. We had used different colors than what most people use. They caulked everything and it looked beautiful. They also painted extra doors that we hadn?t asked them to paint. They didn?t charge us for that. They were fantastic.

They were pretty good. They used nice paint and they were not cheap, they were pretty pricey but we needed somebody that could do some frame work around our garage door. The work was done well.

I called and left a message asking for an estimate. The call was returned immediately and John came out (exactly on time) within two or three days to give us an estimate. To save us money, he had us deal directly with the subcontractor for all the carpentry work since most of my wood trim needed to be repaired as well. The subcontractor gave me a very reasonable estimate within three days and came out over a long weekend to do all of the carpentry work and painting. The sub was here on time for about five hours to do the carpentry work on a Saturday (with three workers) and about eight hours (again, with three workers) on the following Monday to do the painting. The work was excellent. The subcontractor was extremely polite, punctual, and professional as well.

The entire company team was very concerned with pleasing us, and communicated with us often to ensure we were informed of what to expect during the whole process and satisfied with the work.

Very prompt and knowledgeable. Job began earlier than expected and timelines during the job were expressed throughout the job. Even offered to power wash our vinyl fence while they were there.
