A R Crowell Plumbing

It went great. We selected A.R. Crowell from six vendors who provided detailed estimates for our job. We selected them for their price and selection of sub contractors for the ability to select from premium vendors for the tile and the marble counter top and vanity. They provided a time table for construction and completion which was accurate. Our home was thoroughly cleaned after each day of construction.

They were wonderful and I will use them again if I need to. Mike did a wonderful job with the majority of the project and Chris did a wonderful job with all the digging and cement part of the project. I would highly recommend this provider and I wold give them the highest rating.

I called and left a message with my name and phone number.  Got a call back within a half hour..  Mr. Crowell was friendly and chatty on the phone, and when I described the problem with the commode, he knew exactly what was wrong.   He asked me to text him the measurements of the sinks, and pictures of the damage.He gave me an on-phone estimate, including the name and model of the commode and hardware he planned to use.  I was able to check these in Consumer Reports and find that he uses quality materials.
The next day the office called and told me my pieces had been ordered.
The workers showed up on time.  They did a good installation job and they even let my husband watch and gave him some maintenance tips.  They cleaned up after themselves.
The job came in about $100 under the estimate.
The only quibble we had - and it's a minor one - My husband would have liked  to have a choice ahead of time to choose a faucet.  The company ordered the faucet, without sending us pictures, or giving us a choice of style. The one they chose was fine, and it's a Kohler,  But it would have been nice to have a choice.

Their pricing was reasonable and they came out and had the pricing that I needed. I was able to talk to the owner and communicate with him what was needed. I even took a picture of the clean-out thing, so when they came, they already had what they needed and they were in and out. They were very neat and professional.

From the first phone call to get a new water heater to the wrap up of our new toilets, everything went very smoothly with no problem at all. I had used this plumber several years ago and was pleased with their work and decided to give them a call when we needed a plumber this fall.

My sump pump died during the rains from TS Lee which left my basement flooded. I called early evening after the shop had closed but their service guy was still in the field. He showed up about an hour later and within an hour had the sump pump replaced. Cellar is draining as I write this. Thanks for the prompt and professional service. Luke was very efficient and professional. I would definitely use this firm again.

Surprisingly, things went well with this company! I found out about ARC Plumbing through the paperwork that my condo unit's sellers left me (they had used the company a couple times in the past). After I joined Angie's List, I checked out ARC Plumbing back in 2008 and thought the ratings were too so-so at the time, so I hired a different company for drain cleaning. This time around, I checked back and saw that ARC Plumbing's ratings had improved. Therefore, I decided to take a chance and hire them to repair the kitchen faucet that they had installed in my home years ago before I came along...b/c I like continuity. I had no trouble getting an appt. when I wanted it for the following week. The day of the appt., Mike called ahead to let me know that he was on his way and give me his estimated time of arrival. He did show up on time, well within the range previously scheduled, and he seemed knowledgeable and professional. Also, he didn't mind answering my questions or getting some minor input from me when there was a glitch with a faucet component. Ultimately, the kitchen faucet was properly repaired for less than the quoted price, and Mike even gave me an additional discount! He also gave me his professional opinion that the temperature for my hot water was way too high and may have contributed to my faucet springing a leak. He adjusted the settings on my water heater for no charge! I have to admit that I wasn't sure what to expect when I hired this company, but I am glad that I did. Everything worked out well. I would hire them again and recommend them to others.

We have used this company in the past (for installation of a battery back up for the sump pump) and recently used them again for a few plumbing issues. We had an excellent experience from start to finish. Scheduling was easy and fast. The cost of our jobs wound up being hundreds of dollars less than an estimate we received from another plumbing company. The workers were punctual, police, and responsive, and completed the job in the way that was most cost effective for us. We highly recommend this company.

We found AR Crowell noted as a good company on Angie's List as well as being referred by another source. We also checked their record with the State Licensing Board and the Better Business Bureau. We noted that the BBB had no complaints in 36 months for this firm. We contacted Crowell by email to obtain a quote. They responded by phone within 24 hours and were at our home for the estimate punctually at the appointed time. The owner arrived and reviewed the scope of work with me. Along with our plans, he made two suggestions for items that would help with our renovation. Our contractor agreed that these suggestions would help us in the long run. A formal estimate was in our email within 4 hours. The work was set to begin within three days. The work crew arrived promptly as scheduled and introduced themselves. They explained what work would be done each day. They made sure to inform us of any planned utility outages and how long they would last. The crew was EXTREMELY professional and worked diligently each day.

I made an appointment for service paid by the hour ($100/hour) and read my list over the phone. I had to reschedule twice because the tile was taking longer than expected--not the plumber's fault. The plumber came on time to the appointment, but when I showed him the list, he said he didn't have time and would have to come back later. He said it would be $1100 for the list, not counting any parts and I had to put down 1/2. He came back a couple days later with a second guy. They did everything on my list, and he even tried unsuccessfully to snake my outside basement drain when I asked about it--this wasn't on my list. He thought the pipe for the drain had collapsed, but later we put an attachment on our hose and cleared it by pressured water. I had asked them to reset a toilet, but when they removed it, they saw the piping had been done incorrectly. They added more for the additional work to replace the pipe. He had a bit of a negative attitude, but he was very helpful. His helper missed installing some pieces with the dishwasher, and when I called later about it, they sent a different plumber, Jay, out within an hour to fix it. Jay did a great job and was very polite and positive. To explain my ratings, I knocked down punctuality just because of the reschedule when I was expecting them to do it that first day. I knocked down quality of work because of small details like not hacksawing the screws on the toilets so the little topper things could go on and missing the dishwasher pieces. I think the price was a little high, but I have no other estimates to compare to.

We felt that this was a very professional company and will definitely use them again. They were very knowledgeable and used state of the art systems in order to find out where the problem was. Unfortunately they couldn t fix it, but this wasn t their fault, as the clog was very close to the county s pipes at the street.

Came out on Sunday to roto rooter. Made recommendations. We accepted (I had prior knowledge that this may have to be done, so had already gotten a couple of quotes). They we digging on Tuesday and finished the job in 1 day. They cleaned up nicely. Very courteous and helpful - answered all my questions with enthusiasm. Joe was the head guy on the job - I will ask for him next time I ever need a big job done.

Joe seemed very qualified & performed the work efficiently. I expected to pay a lot for the call because it was a Sunday so the price was acceptable. I'd definitely hire Joe again. Joe was prompt and professional. He didn't have what he needed in his truck so had to go to Home Depot for parts.

Plumber was on time and courteous, friendly and workman-like. The job was completed in less time than I expected. There was a minimum of stuff to clean up afterwards. Experienced no problems and I am very happy with the new fixtures. All the old fixtures were removed. I got two quotes and A.R. Crowell was less by $200-$300. Work was scheduled in fairly short order considering new fixtures had to be purchased. I was pleased that the cost estimate was provided over the phone.
