Walmart Wireless

If you value your time, never purchase a cell phone from Walmart
Wireless.  You may be one of the lucky few whose new phone registers
correctly and works.  If not, not even God can help you, certainly not
the support program at Walmart Wireless.
Walmart's "automatic"
new phone registration service is really good at disconnecting your
existing phone service, but does not manage to provision the new SIM
card with the replacement phone -- so they leave you with no phone at
all!  
Try and call them for help, and what we heard was:  "Due
to the high volume of calls, please call back on Monday" , then they
hang up.   This happened on a Friday afternoon.   Same message on Monday
-- too busy to fix the phone message, too.
Well, send an email
then!   So we did.   9 days later we received an automated response
stating that "due to the high volume of emails, someone would be looking
in to our email shortly"
Do you really think that it's OK to
just turn off a customers phone and leave them for dead for 2 weeks?  
Walmart Wireless does!
OH, but it just gets worse.   So we went
to the AT&T store and then kindly gave us new SIM cards and
provisioned the phones.   All good right?  Well 10 days later, Walmart
Wireless got around to responding to our original 3 week old email, AND
TURNED OFF OUR PHONES AGAIN!!!    Yes, it's true.  So we had to go back
to the AT&T store and get new SIM cards and start over!
Walmart
Wireless does not believe that you ever need to talk to a real person,
they do not offer that service.   In fairness, we tried to contact the
corporate Walmart customer support group and asked for a phone number of
someone in management for WalMart Wireless.  They refused, and hung up
on us, insisting we should contact WalMart wireless and have them fix
our problem.
We now refer to Walmart Wireless at the Cell Phone Assassins!
