I have to wonder, how did cable companies get the right, the power or the authority to block our free local channels from giving us access to their free information. If I go to NBC.com, NBC will broadcast over the internet with the TV that I watch, but before it can do that it has to check on my internet service. Since my internet service provider is Comcast, NBC cannot show me the free content that I'm entitled to as a member of the public. They can offer it to everybody else, but not to me. What's wrong with that? It's like the programs have been held hostages by Comcast? I wish they would be so jealous of the live viruses or the malware to get through on the internet system instead of something free that I want. They advertise up to 100 megabits and when you test it, it's 13 megabits. Then, they say well, it's up to 100, but go ahead and get near 100 for a while and then they cut you back. Then, it's "Oh no, you're getting too much service for the amount you pay.". They constantly going up on the cost of it with no notice. If you're not getting a bill in the mail because they want to save on the postage and the writing and the documentation is really what they're trying to save on. They send you some email that gets lost in 150 other email that you get every day to say what the bill is and then, it's gone up. $250 and $500 surprise bills from Comcast, you have no recourse, it's like pay up or shut up. They need some legislation that requires them to print in large letter on every bill, whether it's an electronic bill or a paper bill and say what the current contract is, the monthly cost and when it's scheduled to expire and any additional opportunities that are available around the time of expiring. I had to resort to calling the corporate office, but it seems like they even cut back on that now. It's harder to get to them and what they can do to right any wrongs. They seem to be more interested in jamming signals that are using the internet service, but hello you're paying for the internet service, give it up. Go jam those viruses. I recommend they spend more time stopping malware and viruses and less time stopping free services such as network TV broadcasts over the internet and other internet providers video content. I would use them again, they are the only one in the county.

I have used Comcast several times and they put the service in 6/26/17 and he informed me that he would have to put in a temporary cable but it has a weaker signal. They came back to replace the temporary cable with a thicker cable. I knew they didn't know what they were doing and I didn't have any signal. I went outside and they were gone and they came back four separate times and still could not fix the issue. I had buffering and weak Wi-Fi issues. They are providing a deficient service and are charging me full price and I am waiting on resolution from BBB.

Awful. We immediately had issues with connectivity and continued having intermittent service nearly every other month. We never got our second TV box working. Tech support was useless, having us repeat the same simple steps with every transfer to a different department: unplug your modem, wait five minutes, are you sure it's still not working?, no I cannot see it from my end either, hold on while I transfer you do a different country to repeat this process. Then, Technicians would come days later, late, only to try the same steps, then confirm there was no signal to the house and have to call someone else who would not even communicate with us, even if they fixed the problem.
Description of Work: We had Comcast for internet, TV and telephone (fax) for 18 months. This is the second time we have had Comcast: once for two years around 2010 in MD and in 2006 for about 18 months. Each time ended in disaster.

I just pay them over the phone. They are a little pricey. I think their price is too high. My interaction with them depends on who I get. I have to hang up on some people and call back. The quality of their service could be better.

We got them over a year ago and they still have not buried the line for our house. I spoke with them for over eight hours. If it were easy to switch to Verizon I would have. It is on my to do list.

.I have them for internet and cable and have been using them for years. I j got use to them and that's why I haven't switched to any one else. Their customer service is pretty good they give you credit when needed. They come out when they're suppose to. I have a monthly plan with them that fluctuates.

About a week ago, I talked to a gentleman at the video repair center in White Marsh, Maryland, and he assured me a crew would remove the cable. On May 9, I was told someone would call back in an hour. Four hours later, I called back and talked to yet another person who said someone would contact me within a few business days. As of today (May 10, 2013), the cable is still dangling down the side of my house. If Comcast ever removes the cable, I will be happy to inform Angie's List that the problem has been resolved, though it won't change my opinion. Comcast provides lousy service - it gets an F.
Description of Work: I have called Comcast at least four times in the last month or so to ask them to remove a loose cable running down the front of my house. Pepco, the first agency I called, has informed me that it is a Comcast cable and has tagged it with a bright orange sticker. It is a safety concern as well as an eyesore that reduces the value of my property. Comcast has assured me it will be taken care of each time I have called, or that someone will call me back. No one has, and the cable is still there.

Their service is kind of spotty. You have to be careful not to get a contractor, and get a real Comcast employee, because the contractors aren't knowledgeable. With an actual employee you're good to go, but with a contractor you never know. They are the best cable providers in the area. I like them.

Description of Work: I started cable internet service with Comcast on 2 December. 13 days later, on 15 December 2008, my internet simply stopped. I called them that day and set up a service appointment for 16 December. The next day, the tech never showed up. However, he did leave 2 voicemails on my switched off cell phone, claiming that he had come by and no one was home. This was a boldfaced lie. I called Comcast customer service to complain and to get another tech out to my house. One came the next day, fixed "everything that I can" and that the ultimate problem was on Comcast's end. Nothing else. This is where the fun begins. I called 3 more times in the next few days and received no satisfaction. The service reps couldn't even tell me what the problem was nor when it would be fixed. Finally, I spoke to a "supervisor" named Deanna who told me that they had 17 business days (not including the holidays) to fix this. That was it. Couldn't even tell me what the problem was. Frustrated, I decided to hold on because cable internet was my best option. I called Comcast back a few days ago and spoke to another "supervisor" who said the same thing as Deanna. I guess that I'm just supposed to put up with it. I finally told the "supervisor" to just come over and get their modem and cancel my service. Did the excuse for a "supervisor" make any effort to fix the problem to my satisfaction? Nope. She simply said, "just a second" and transferred me to the department that cancels accounts. Unbelievable. I can't even say that their customer service is bad. It's simply non-existent. DON'T USE THEM.

Everyone complains about Comcast, and I've had my share of billing and service problems, but while it takes time to call to resolve them, Comcast has always fixed the issue and provided some free service, such as a year of free premium channels, to compensate me. One time they took $50 off the bill in addition. The service people have been timely, polite, and have performed the repairs well.

Their service is basically terrible. They are always late, or they don't even show up. They still charge a $20 fee just for checking out your stuff. They do a mediocre job. They have too many contractors that really don't care about the service they provide. They are expensive, and I would not really recommend them.

I work at home and have to have internet service during my working hours. They would start working on the lines in the middle of the day without notice and would have the service out for as much as several hours. They would not give me a time of service restoration. Their customer service was very poor and the reps were often rude. Until recently, I was at the mercy of their poor service.

I have had problems resolving billing issues with Comcast from when I moved and canceled our service. I submitted a payment on line and they didn't credit our account. I sent them proof of payment by faxing our bank statement to many different people. I am still getting calls about this even though they know it is being researched. The actual service was fairly good, although we did lose cable occasionally. It is just very difficult to get to the right person when you call regarding a problem.
Description of Work: Comcast provided us with digital cable, phone and high speed INTERNET service in a package for $99 per month.
