"I am a little baffled at why we received a B rating. I went to the customers house when contacted me and presented them with a proposal. We did not do any work there. I was told they decided not to have it done. I'm sure if they used our services they would have been satisfied."
After opening the unit they found only one tiny strip that might be asbestos. That was properly removed and enveloped over the course of 60 seconds and the technician said, I'm not gonna charge you for that.- I'll take it and make sure it is properly disposed of.
Wonderful service. I would definitely call them again.
When they left, there was no sign that they had been there, other than the removed tiles. The kitchen was left with a smooth, clean subfloor - ready for the new hardwood flooring that we planned to install later in the week. There was no debris, trash, or dirt left behind - not so much as a footprint.
We were very pleased and would definitely recommend them.
charging us unnecessarily to remove the floor, he tested the sample and it was in fact
negative for asbestos so he basically saved us 2000. We very much
appreciate his honesty and responsiveness.
The team was punctual and efficient. They were scheduled to complete the work in two days. The first day, Bob and his team of two came at 7:30 to start work, and completed more than half of the basement that day. They taped heavy plastic at the stairwell and used a heavy duty vacuum to minimize any dust from coming upstairs. At the end of the day, they took the tiles that had been removed that day. On the seconday day, they moved furniture, appliances and storage shelving to the opposite side of the basement to complete the rest of the tile removal. Just like the previous day, they cleaned up all of the tiles that had been removed that day, and the remainder of residual dust.
I am very pleased with the service I received from Campbell Gibbons, and would highly recommend them to anyone needing tile removal.
did more than I expected. They solved a couple of small problems for me
while carrying out an asbestos abatement. Air testing was done onsite
during and after the procedures, so we knew the work was successful and
the site was safe. It was a pleasure dealing with this company and I
will certainly use them again.
Prior to their arrival, my contracting team (my home is being renovated) also found the same tile as a second layer of flooring in the kitchen. The contractor's team removed the flooring before I had a chance to contact Campbell Gibbons, and left a bit of residual tiles behind. Mickey and Doug even cleaned this space of the residual.
After receiving an acceptable proposal, I requested, and received Campbell Gibbons insurance and DC license. The information was sent the day following my request. It was agreed that work would start at 7am, Monday, August 20.
The team arrived a bit late, because Bob inadvertantly documented the wrong city quadrant. They arrived only 25 minutes late as a result. The team consisted of Supervisor, Mickie, and two abator's Jesus and Marvin (I could have the last guy's name wrong). The independent air monitor guy arrived also. Everyone was professional and pleasant to work with.
The area to be abated was encapsulated with 6mm plastic; they got into their appropriate gear (white suit and asbestos rated respirator), they removed the carpet, and paused so that I could get photos of the floor; and the abatement work proceeded. After the work was finished, the team escorted me back into the house where we walked through the space and I saw the flooring.
Just before the abatement work was started, The air monitor contractor asked if I would like his firm to test the adhesive that was sticking to the wood flooring that lay beneath the floor tile and sheathing. The cost would have been $50. I agreed, and he scrapped up the amount needed for a test. Ultimately this was not done after seeing the condition of the floor after the tiles and sheathing was removed -- there were areas that had replaced wood, so that new flooring is needed. So the $50 check was returned to me at the site.
After they departed, I found 3 pieces of wood trim was left (about 15" each in size), and a tiny, tiny, bit of debris (really small amount, an amount that could fit on a pinky finger).
