We hired KP Contracting for an elevated pergola and pavers in my grandfather?s backyard. Contract signed Jan 2025, downpayment paid Feb. Parts weren?t ordered until mid-March and arrived in May. They laid pavers but disappeared all June, ignoring calls and texts. Returned briefly in July but didn?t finish the floating deck. The backyard was left torn up with grass destroyed from storing inventory for weeks. They lacked skill to build the pergola properly, missed parts, and never inventoried materials. Wiring was poorly done with exposed wires needing multiple fixes. The motorized pergola remote was missing, then replaced with the wrong model and never calibrated. No progress updates or functional tests. Pavers loosened weeks after sealing. Supposed 3-week project dragged on 12+ weeks, still unfinished. Overpriced for subpar work. No apologies or compensation. The entire stair and patio project was exceptional from start to finish. Keith Carpenter took the time to thoroughly explain the various options available, providing detailed images to help me envision how to tailor the design to suit my personal style. I was impressed with the attention to detail throughout the planning phase. As the project progressed, I received regular updates from Betty Pimm and Karen on the status of paperwork and was met with prompt responses whenever I had questions. Once construction began, Nesty and his team demonstrated professionalism, organization, and thoroughness, completing each phase with impressive efficiency. The final result is nothing short of outstanding, and I am thrilled with my decision to work with KP Contracting.

My credit of $6294 has not been returned per the contract credit. I will be reporting KP Contracting to the Maryland Home Improvement Commission and the Maryland Attorney General. It took KP Contracting 5 months to start a project that I was told would take 60 days from the time I signed the contract, which was October 2023. The project was severely overpriced, the timelines were misrepresented, and the customer service lacked transparency and integrity. After several occasions that lacked transparency and integrity on the part of KP Contracting, I informed them on May 8th, 2024, to not return to my home for any further work, which was average work at best. KP cost me thousands of dollars in "interest" payments due to the lack of meeting timelines; as the financial company doesn't convert the loan until the project is complete. On May 19th, 2024; KP Contracting had the gall to send me a "final invoice" for $4954, even though they owe me $6294; which was a credit that should've been returned to me, per the contract. When I responded to KP, I told them. "You will get the $4954, once I get my $6294." All other correspondence will be done through my lawyer. Please be mindful; at this point, I've paid $89,700 on a patio and the closest competitor was at $57,350. I only used them because they were a vendor my builder recommended for our home which was newly built in 2023. Fast forward to June 12th, 2024; I received an email from KP Contracting, signed by the owner stating. "We are coming up on 30 days late for this invoice ($4954). Please pay the balance in the next 7 days to avoid late payment reporting to the credit agencies." The threat of credit reporting is not in KP Contractingâ s per-view nor does KP Contracting have the legal authority to â reportâ to a credit bureau, as they didnâ t extend or have the ability to extend credit. KP has no legal power or right to do so. Yet another situation that lacked integrity. On June 12th; I plainly stated to KP Contracting and its owner personally. "Do not contact me again if you are not attempting to return my credit or the remainder thereof. Doing so will force me to file a complaint, through my lawyer to the Charles County District Court in terms of harassment." After that email, KP Contracting contacted me three separate times. 1. June 12th 2024 @ 11:09pm (Email) 2. June 13th 2024 @ 7:18pm (Phone w/ Voicemail) 3. June 17th 2024 @ 5:43pm (Email) June 12th at 11:09pm was to arrogantly state. "Never mind Dale. Keep your money. It isn't worth the energy. The regrettable part is that I had really anticipated enjoying a happy walkthrough with you. I wish you the best of luck." Even though June 12th could be looked at a defeated response to my email that stated the numbers and facts of the contract figures. The other two definitely shouldn't have happened per my request, as I don't owe KP Contracting a dime, they actually owe me $6294 per the contract.

Great company to use for any deck projects. Very customer friendly, oriented and focus with acute attention to detail. Very satisfied customer.

While we knew what we wanted to do in general, Phil - the owner, helped us narrow down the details. He built the plans and submitted the permits. Once the permits came in the project started quickly. His crew did a fantastic job building a very high quality deck. It is beautiful and has a solid foundation. His crew was so professional and friendly. You could tell they really cared about the quality of work they did. We were well informed throughout the process. Found KP from Home Advisor and am so glad I did. Would highly recommend. Thank you for such a positive experience and for a beautiful deck we will enjoy for many years to come.
