So I went with Wood Acres and was not disappointed. They warned me that the crape myrtle would look very bare after the pruning (which it does!). They arrived punctually and worked professionally. When they were finished I asked them to cut a couple more small branches, which they immediately did. Perhaps they could have told me that they had finished and asked me to look and see if I was happy, instead of me having to take the initiative. But overall I am very pleased with their work and will use them again.
!
I called this year because I thought the bagworms had reappeared. The same guy I had three years ago came out and looked. He didn't see any bagworms, and said we didn't need the treatment. He did say we could do the treatment as a preventive measure, because bagworms come around fairly often. He was not pushy, and I agreed. I also had him look at my other landscaping/shrubs, where something was eating away at the leaves. He recognized that pest and made a suggestion. He gave me an estimate for shrub treatment alone, and one for shrubs and large evergreen. I opted to do both. The $400 covered two visits to perform the full treatment.... I don't know how this cost compares to other providers, but I don't really care because these guys are good.
They have been in business a long time, and are responsive, friendly, and honest.
They were very professional, respectful and did a great job. I've used them in the past as well.
The cost of the first job of pruning was higher than most but they delivered a good job. They only accept checks but are willing to divide payments. ($3,100.00)
I had a contract with Bartholemew trees before Wood Acres but they lost their best climber and had some issues with price negotiating so we mutually agreed to break that contract and I hired Wood Acres.
The second job of removing the huge poplar was more compatible with other estimates. ($8,525.00)
The job was tricky because all the trees are very close to the house and they did a great job of protecting our patio, the house, the front yard when the big crane came and cleaned everything up very well. They put boards and metal sheets where the crane's stabilizing pads went and had to remove then replant an azealea in the process.
Forest their estimator and supervisor was very respectful, prompt, and professional.
