I want a gas range in the kitchen. They provided an estimate that was lower than another plumbing company that I use as well as the company that is providing the range I purchased. They were recommended by the electrician we use, and they were quick and prompt to do the work. The company was helpful in working with the gas company to get increased pressure into the house for all the gas appliances we have as well as being able to add other appliances in the future.
I would use them in the future.
A week later, Greg (master plumber arrived) and did all the work that needed to be done. It took longer than I anticipated which made me feel badly, since I felt I had more things that needed to be done than what Greg might have expected. This was never an issue for Greg. He was very professional, courteous and eager to get everything "just right". I installed high end plumbing fixtures that other companies told me they did not work with. He knew exactly what to do and also was able to place my plumbing meticulously where I wanted my European plumbing in the shower. He was very patient with me and treated the job as if it were his own home. I was very impressed with his work, and his friendliness. I had full trust in his entire approach and execution of the entire complicated job.
I also applaud Stephanie for making this all happen. I have not been a customer in the past, but was treated as if I were a VIP client when I called. I remain impressed and grateful for the attention I received from Voight. I will remain a faithful customer and have already referred this company to friends and my customers/colleagues and neighbors.
I can't rate them highly enough. Voight exceeded my expectations and they have gained my trust and loyalty.
A Huge THANK YOU!!! to Greg and Stephanie.
Everything that was simple, he did great. Anything beyond simple was not very good. He tried to fix the shower so the button would go between button and bath, but that still does not work.
"This work was completed a year ago and not once has the homeowner contacted us about any issues with the work to remedy any of these issues until we received this poor review a year later. The basement toilet had a crack inside the tank where the flush valve was located, the plumber was not sure if replacing the flush valve would aggravate the crack and make the issue worse. At this point he recommended replacing the toilet as we would not be able to warranty that the toilet would not leak after replacing the flush valve. The shower diverter was sticking, WD-40 was used to free up the stem, if the issue is still persisting the stem should be replaced. The kitchen faucet was not worked on by the plumber. Along with furnishing and installing the toilet in the basement bathroom we also furnished and installed a polished brass lavy pop-up assembly and polished brass handheld shower. There was a lavy faucet that was also repaired. The approximate cost covered the labor and materials for all of these items."
I called RL Voight because the diverter in my shower stall had stopped working. The plumber came and said that the handle was stripped and a new handle was needed. He said Voight would locate the part. Days later their office called to say they were not able to locate the part. No solution was proposed. I subsequently located the needed handle on the Internet and had the part delivered and then called RL Voight to install it. RL Voight's plumber came back and then determined that his original opinion was wrong and that it needed a new diverter. But I had to pay for the additional visit. He said they would locate the diverter, but that is the last I have heard from them. I found the additional part on the Internet and have ordered it. I now will install the new diverter myself with the help of the manufacturer's tech support line. If I relied on RL Voight for this repair I would never have the use of my shower again. This is like a contractor that comes, can't fix it, and then disappears. They essentially abandoned the project but charged me $200 for nothing.
"There are numerous faucet manufactures that it is difficult for plumbers to identify each one just by looking at it when there is no name or logo on the faucet. Many faucets are made specifically for the box hardware stores which make repair parts difficult to obtain, they are not the standard parts available at the plumbing supply stores. We were informed by the homeowner that his shower faucet may be Glacier Bay which he had purchased from The Great Outdoors two years ago that has since gone out of business. We contacted our suppliers to see if the faucet could be identified based upon the pictures we took and if the parts could be located, no one was able to identify the faucet. Upon calling [member name removed]to let him know this he informed us that it was a Danze faucet and that he had ordered a handle. Upon our return visit to install the owners handle the threads on the cartridge were not lining up properly with the handle and the threads were stripped again. Knowing this was a Danze faucet we ordered a new handle and cartridge under warranty for the homeowner. I’m sure we could have gotten these parts faster than the two weeks to get at a charge to the homeowner but, we had the impression he did not want to pay for them. When we received the parts we called the homeowner to schedule a visit to install them at which time he informed us that he got the parts himself and was going to install them. We billed $155.00 for the first two visits, our normal time and material rate."
Although it seems as if the job wold be simple, I knew, based on the age of my apartment building and the fact the the faucet being replaced was original, that it could be involved. The job was indeed a bit complex and cost me a bit more than I had hoped for, but the work was done on a timely basis, the person arrived on time, he worked efficiently, kept me informed as to what was going on, and cleaned up nicely when all was done.
Dave and his team discovered literally pounds of gravel inthe sewer line. It was apparent to all of us that the gravel didn't get in there "by mistake", but the challenge was to get it out without destroying our basement. The Voight guys were imaginative and diligent about finding a solution and executing the plan. After seriously considering jackhammering the floor, they figured out a novel way to combine other techniques and literally pull the gravel out. Mind you, they had to "pull" the gravel out of a pipe buried many feet below the ground. It was a laborious and time consuming process, but it saved us thousands of dollars and affirmed out confidence that Voight is a great company.
While spending time with a plumber is not the sign of a great day, the Voight folks are great people and the way to go.
Unfortunately I forgot to present the 5% off coupon at the time of paying for the service, but even though I called the office within two hours of the repairs, the company did not honor it.
