KENSINGTON SHOE REPAIR

When I returned to the shop and asked the owners to make it right, they became hostile and told me I had not brought the sweater to their shop. I had the receipt and had used their business several times before. They knew me, yet insisted they had never seen me before or the sweater. I have written you a long letter explaining the details. They argued that because the sweater was not on a hanger when I presented it to them, it could not have come from their shop. (I had just handed them a stack of their wire hangers to recycle. The swaeter had been on one of those hangers.) The little tag was no longer clipped to the neck band, and they insisted that, therefore, the sweater could not have been cleaned by them. (My husband had discarded it.) No sweater had ever been so damaged by their shop, they claimed, so it could not have come through them. They were utterly irrational and would not admit that the sweater had gone through their business. They actually accused me of lying, for claiming that they had cleaned the sweater. Ultimately, I prevailed. They reluctantly agreed to sew on the buttons if I would provide them. I left, bought 6 buttons, returned, and the woman sewed them on and repaired the buttonhole. When I picked up the sweater several days later, I asked to be reimbursed $7 for the buttons. They refused.
