Gary L Nolder Contractor

Our HOA hired Gary Nolder to repair and renovate our 2BR 1BA unit that had succumbed to uneven flooring over the years and a flooded kitchen. From the start, Gary seemed perfect, attentive and detailed with great designs. However the second he received the money is when the problems. Coordinating with Gary became slower due to his frequent vacations and inability to get ahold of him several times over 3 months. We had to reach out to his subcontractors and he scolded us for doing this! The cardinal sin is that Gary's team either purposely choose to not level the flooring substrate by simply adding new subfloor on-top of the old structurally problematic base, which would have kept the problem unresolved! We and our HOA ended up breaking ties and cutting our losses with him, very sad because we lost countless weeks with him. We don't recommend Gary to anyone.

Once I got Mr. Nolder's phone from AL, I contacted him and explain by phone what we wanted. He said he was interested and agreed to come and see the place. When he came, we talk about different materials for tiles and sinks. He explained the different kinds of toilets available in the market at the time. He talked about how to improved the ventilation in the small bathroom. He suggested to go to stores to see examples of different bathrooms. This activity was to help us decided in a list of items that were needed for the new bathroom. We also talked how much money would the project cost. He also suggested websites to visit for price comparisons. Mr. Nolder send us an free estimate for the job and we agreed. We pay the project in three payments, beginning of the project middle and end of the project. It took approx 8 weeks.
Main problems were, the two custom made cabinets were incorrectly made by the company, so we had to wait 2 weeks for the correct ones. Another problem was that a piece was missing from the sink faucet and it took 8 weeks to be deliver. These were no Mr. Nolder's fault.

We met with Gary several times prior to his starting the project. We decided on custom tile, which he helped my wife pick out, and we went with a custom steam shower. We also had our bedroom painted to match the new colors in the bath. Gary did most of the work himself, but used an electrician, drywall guy, and painter to do some of the work. The project took longer than we thought it would, but that's because Gary is a perfectionist (I mean that in a good way) and wanted the job to turn out exactly how we had planned it. We were not disappointed!

My kitchen is beautiful and finely done. Through his experience and contacts he guided me to better product at better cost. He was here each day early with a very pleasant attitude, no matter what surprise occurred in the remodel, he solved it easily. I would recommend him to anyone who wished to have a wonderful experience with a contractor.

Gary started early every day, worked without stopping and finished the project early. I couldn't be happier.
