Very well! The person at Echo who took my call was courteous and thorough and was able to give me an appointment within a few days after my call. My electrician, Ludwin (my apologies if this is not the correct spelling) arrived precisely on time and began by discussing the work to be done. I really appreciated this because he suggested products (encased LED lights) that I did not know existed and which are much better suited to the storage and furnace room than the bare light bulb fixture and motion-activated fixture I was replacing. Then, instead of just installing an outlet in the general area I indicated, Ludwin discussed with me different considerations for placing the outlet and the type of outlet (single vs. multiple plug) and took careful measurements before beginning. An initial cut into the wall hit a stud, so the outlet had to be moved slightly to the right. Without being asked, Ludwin neatly spackled the cut before leaving. Ludwin also examined a covered-over location for a ceiling lamp and explained how he could install either a flood light or pendant light there. Finally, he checked the outdoor fixture and determined that it is working. All this was accomplished in 2 hours. Overall, Ludwin and Echo Electric provided personalized professional service. I will definitely call Echo when I next need an electrician.
Description of Work: Installation of an outlet, replacement of two lights, check of usability of an inactive ceiling fixture, and check of outdoor floodlight.

Echo Electric was the electrical sub-contractor of our general contractor for the addition and remodel of our home. We did not hire or pay them directly. We were first introduced to Rob Medley and his team in August, 2013 to go over the electrical work needed. Rob made some excellent suggestions such as moving the electrical access panel from the guest bedroom to the laundry room and installing closet lighting that automatically turned on when you opened the door. Throughout the construction process, they were punctual, professional, and ordered required fixtures in a timely manner. After our initial meeting, our main contact was Tony Lopez who ran our wiring, installed our fixtures and all the other electrical elements needed for a new addition/renovation. Tony has excellent customer service skills. He communicated with us every step of the way, was professional and very kind to us. He really knows his stuff and you can tell he loves what he does. Although we didn’t hire him and had no previous experience with him or Echo, I would hire him again. I trust Tony and the whole Echo team completely.
Description of Work: Echo Electric was responsible for the installation of new electrical service for a 700+sq ft. addition and the upgrade of electrical service for the existing 700+sq ft. of our renovated home.

This actually isn't done yet, but it's waiting on Pepco, not Echo Electric. Everything Echo Electric did was great! In particular, the man who put in the outlets was very nice and pointed out things that were done incorrectly/illegally and helped out with those problems at no additional charge. As he was doing one of the outlets he even showed me how he was doing it because I was curious. They have been very good about communication and I would definitely use them in the future!
Description of Work: Two things - a "heavy up" where they are switching the power from 60 amps to 200 amps. They also put in a few new outlets on a side of the room when there weren't previously any.

It did not go.
Description of Work: It is said the only way to guarantee failure is to not show up and that is what Echo Electric did. After cancelling the appointment for the estimate at the last minute and rescheduling a week later, I have not yet received an estimate. It has been approximately two weeks. I even called and asked about the estimate. They told me they were just getting to it and I would have it by the end of the day or the next day. A week later and still nothing. What a total waste of my time. If they did not want my business they should have just told me so. Do not waste your time.

This is a Preliminary Report of Service. I will modify it, if my experience changes. But, at this point, the company has a very wonderful office presence, great skills at handling calls. BUT, it has been 2 months that service for what seems to be a relatively easy thing, the repair of an electric swing arm garage door opener, that they installed. They have been out once, but not when they stated they would be. 2 weeks later, it was determined that parts were needed. 2 weeks later, the parts were dropped off, while the owner was there, but no one knocked on the door or let anyone know they had been delivered, until someone walked onto the front porch. 2 weeks later, they still, have yet, to schedule a date or time when they will be out to respond. I will update this, when I have a better idea of whether they are going to keep their word or not.

He seemed to be a very knowledgeable young man. He called ahead of time. He told me when he would be here. He was very pleasant. I didn't feel funny having him in the house. He seemed very thorough. He wanted to follow the issue.
Description of Work: They checked our dishwasher. He replaced the circuit breakers and put in a new one. It seemed to be tripping it. The line should have been sufficient. He also replaced a whole bunch of dimer switches.
