BRENTWOOD MANOR

Description of Work: Brentwood Manor Mobile Home Community is the park management leg of Eastern Housing, Inc., that sells and installs manufactured homes. They do a property inspection every Spring, this time with no advance notice, and since 9/07 I've not been written up but for the most minor of things. Not this year. They pulled out all the stops and wrote me up for a lot of things. But, the most amusing is that my deck needs to be cleaned & stained. A little over a year ago I discovered that the huge decks that wrap around my house, that they sold me with the house, were NOT built to code. They were built without inspections and permits, with inferior products, attached to the house (which is not allowed), and the posts do NOT go into the ground at all (they sit atop the ground/concrete slab/cinder blocks). All this according to the County's Inspection Superivisor that I immediately called out to inspect. I was also advised then that it would be dangerous to use the back deck in particular as it sits atop a very steep hill and if the posts giveway then so does the deck and at a minimum the back of the house would be torn away. Do they really think I'm going to have a crumbling, improper, illegal and dangerous deck cleaned and stained. No I am not. Actually I'm not going to do any of the repairs that they listed, since I'm outta here. The park owner's daughter and granddaughter (also the Park Manager) did the inspections. I'm sure my long list was done in retaliation for my filing a complaint with the County's Consumer Affairs office, which spent 8 months investigating. But, due to Mr. Mobley's lies and deception they wouldn't file charges against him.
