BLUE RIDGE FLOORS & HOME SVC

The owner Kurt Brown came to our house to take measurements of the kitchen and give an estimate.  The estimate seemed alittle low compared to other estimates so we decided to go with Blue Ridge Floors.  Before accepting the bid I found some errors.  The cabinets were builder's grade MDF cabinets and not the all wood construction as requested.  Soft close hinges were not included in the estimate.  The estimate was rewritten but did not include the soft close hinges and we were told that it would be on work order.  The cabinets were ordered on 9/5/14.  The demo started on 10/13/14 and the tile man started laying tile on 10/14/14.  He started laying the tile in a square pattern when we had asked that it be laid in a diamond pattern and the tile was to be laid under the hot water heater.  He said that if he did that he would have to order 1 more box of tile which he reluctantly did do.  He did not remove the baseboard when laying the tile either.  On 10/16/14 the cabinet crew began to install the cabinets which came to a halt because the cabinets that were delivered were the cheap builders grade cabinets and the cabinets were measured wrong.  I called the owner of Blue Ridge and he offered to knock off $300 if we kept the cabinets but we rejected this offer because we paid for the all wood construction cabinets.  On 10/20/14 Blue Ridge sent a worker to our house at 5:50 AM to remeasure the kitchen cabinets.  This was such an inconvience.  On 11/20/14 the new cabinets arrived and installation began.  The cabinets and microwave above the stove were finished being installed 11/21/14.  I asked the cabinet installer if the microwave was vented to the outside and he said no and that it would not match up to the existing vent.  Again, there was a lack of communication.  I was there all day and they did not inform me of any problems.  The finished cabinets did not have soft close hinges which prompted another call to Blue Ridge.  Blue Ridge stated that the workorder did not say anything about soft close hinges and if we wanted them then that would be an extra $400.  I showed Blue Ridge an email from them that said the cabinets would have soft close hinges.  Blue Ridge agreed to order and install the hinges.  Also one of the pull out drawers would not close properly and the cabinet crew could not figure out how to adjust it and said they would order another drawer.  On 12/16/14 a different crew from Blue Ridge arrived at my neighbors house.  I had to run outside and catch them before they woke my neighbor up.  This crew was here to install the new drawer but when they opened the box it was the wrong drawer.  They could not figure how to adjust this drawer either and said they would order another drawer.  This was the last we saw Blue Ridge Floors.  Our calls were not returned.
