Description of Work: Inspected and then gave written estimate, prepped all exterior woodwork and siding, replaced rotted wood on porch, painted trim and siding.

Description of Work: Prior to joining Angie's List, I contacted Saylor's Painting because they had the most professional ad in the Yellow Pages and a website to review their services. Debbie Saylor, the office manager, responded promptly to my phone inquiry, set up the appointment, confirmed the appointment immediately via email, and sent along an extensive list of references WITH the appointment confirmation. Larry Saylor arrived on time, was a great resource to me in discussing my painting and wallpapering needs, including some ceiling and closet repair caused by a roof leak. Although Larry had recently been on a marathon of estimate appointments, he submitted a thorough estimate of the project within a day or so - by email followed up by a mailed estimate. His estimate was comparable to another painting estimate (of three I received) - both of which were more competitively priced than the third estimate. The project cost estimate was roughly $5500. We didn't use Saylor's Painting for only one reason - each painting contractor noticed that the project (interior painting and wallpapering and exterior painting of a covered porch) included a need to replace a portion of the porch floor and to fix a minor porch roof leak. The carpentry jobs involved replacing about 25 sq. ft. of flooring, and we elected to hire a painting contractor who could also perform these repairs to reduce the stress of finding another contractor wiling to do a relatively minor project quickly. Saylor Painting will be my first call when it's time to paint and wallpaper another level of our home - because of my experience with him on this estimate, my confidence in the quality of his work, and because he also provides wallpapering services. The contractor I selected does not handle wallpaper, but I felt that finding someone to wallpaper (no time requirement to get it done immediately) would be easier than finding a carpenter willing to take on our job on short notice. All aspects of dealing with Saylor Painting were a welcome experience. Locating service providers can be a very taxing experience in receiving timely call-backs and scheduling convenient appointments. Debbie and Larry make it a very easy exercise - you won't be disappointed.
