The whole project worked out great. Tom Reiner was wonderful. He was very professiona , honest and dependable. Tom's project manager Bob was above and beyond expectations. The whole crew and subcontractors worked well together. The workmanship was high quality and expediant. Well organized. We were very impressed and highly recommend them.

It is obvious, looking back at the specifications/bid that Plumb provided that they had done a significant amount of planning already at that point. They provided us with actual costs (not estimates which several did), broken into categories. They provided a workplan (which no other contractor did). They provided a lead containment plan. The demolition process was carefully planned and carried out. We suffered no unexpected losses of power, water, etc. When water was turned off, we were given notice, and it was off for a limited amount of time. Each subsequent step of the reconstruction was also marked by quality – from the unbelievable number of screws used to secure the flooring, to the manner in which the drywall was installed with staggered seams. They have probably provided us with the only level floors in the house. Brick taken out at one place was salvaged and reused in another. Living with historic governances, this was critical. Plumb ensured that the new areas would appear fluid with the old by recreating custom casement and doors. Additionally, in our hallway, Plumb recreated the effect of our 100-year old flooring, matching the grain, color and pattern (with mahogany strips). New doors were stained to match existing doors. Everything is carefully planned, with the cabinet/island layout marked on the floor beforehand, and every outlet planned with respect to where the casement will be installed. It allowed us to review our decisions as early as possible in case adjustments were needed. Plumb worked well with the other contractors we involved including the granite installer, the Copper Shop range hood fabricator, and the cabinet maker. Their own subcontractors also worked as a team, and it was apparent that they had worked together frequently. *** Price Plumb’s price was compatible with the other companies that we reviewed as part of a formal bid process. In a renovation of this scale, with the age of the house, we were concerned about potential cost overruns. We had heard many stories of change requests during this stage and the need to budget 10-15% beyond project cost to allow for this. We had just one unexpected change request of a minimal amount to replace a rotten beam ($600 with labor). We also made one change to planned framing and related cabinet sizing (our plan did not have the arches of three doorways lined up, which Plumb performed at cost. *** Livability –Their staff is trained on lead abatement, one person is held accountable throughout the project, and several measures were taken to ensure lead dust did not escape into our living area, including erection of temporary walls, caulking, use of negative pressure equipment, and special regular cleaning by Plumb. Our 5-year old’s lead levels improved after the project was complete from her previous annual reading. Work site was cleaned daily. Plumb personnel were pleasant to have on-site. They work together as a team and all are passionate about performing quality work. There was a visible difference between the atmosphere at our house during construction and other homes in the neighborhood. Timeline – Plumb construction provided a timeline and met it until significant cabinet issues surfaced. (We selected the cabinet maker). Plumb continued to work aggressively to complete the work as cabinet issues were mitigated.

Plumb Construction was an excellent contractor. The project manager was fantastic. All the sub-contractors were very easy to work with in the project.

We are extremely satisfied. The results exceeded our expectations. The project received an Award of Excellence from the Remodelers Council of the Home Builders Association of Maryland. Plumb Construction Co. employees and contractors were very responsive to our suggestions and requests.

The workers were exceptionally professional and the quality of the work done was excellent. They were extremely reliable, showing up every day on time and completing work on schedule. They were also extremely neat and accommodating to our needs as we were living in the house throughout construction.

Very poor. Very poor service. Very difficult to work with. High price, quality of work very spotty. Failed to follow through
