Blue did a couple projects for us. In fact the are both still featured on his website. Yet for some reason when we contacted a vendor many years after the project was over… Blue insisted that the one time visit the contractor made — justified KBR a charging an additional 65% ransom.. or he would sue us. And in fact he did .. interesting way to treat a customer over very minor dollars

We were told that the job would take 12 weeks. They worked 26 weeks and the job was still not complete when the owner Blue pulled them out. We been struggling for the past year to get countless quality issues taken care of. There are several things that are on the contract that have not been taken care of. We are still missing a cabinet door. I told him a year ago about some ceiling seams that are sagging. He contracted to fix an area around a ceiling HVAC vent that over a year later has yet to be complete. A spice drawer was chipped at install. The list goes on and on. He now refuses to complete the work although I have paid in full.

Took them 6 months and the job was not even that big, and then they never finished. They waited a long time to start my job. They were supposed to start in March but didn't start till July. They were hardly ever there. Do a few work and then would leave, or not even come to do the work. By the time July- December and they had still not finished my powder room, and we had to hire someone else to finish the powder room. . They almost put down the wrong floor. There were numerous things that were not finished that my husband ended up having to finish those jobs. They kept sending me bills for for work not completed, and they ended up taking us court for us refusing to pay. They ended up settling it out of court because they new that I had all the documentation proving that they had not finished the work.

Hired contractor (Kitchens By Request - William Arnold, III, aka "Blue Arnold") and are now suing them for multiple issues. Job took much longer then was agreed upon in the contract. They fraudulently billed us. For example, we picked an expensive sink and they replaced it with a sink several thousand dollars cheaper and tried to pass it off as our choice while not crediting us for the price differences of the sinks, as well as over billing us for numerous other items, (sent late bills in an attempt to flagrantly over bill us for multiple items). Claimed they were owed money when they were overpaid, hence the need for the lawsuit. They took advantage of our trust and made design decisions on their own without consulting us. Arnold's employee, Perry Christian, did an exterior color consultation for our front door, trim and shutters and sent us a bill for nearly five thousand dollars. Perry wasn't certified to do any of this at the time of service. Other certified color consult estimates would have charged us $300.00. Complete rip off. In addition, we have a large walk in shower with glass but the glass is so unstable the shower can't be used. We don't believe that they have ever done a glass shower this size. Arnold acknowledged the problem with the glass not being stable and after agreeing to fix it properly changed his mind and eventually recommended a horrible metal bar which aesthetically takes away from the design of the bathroom. Other contractors have come in and advised us that there were plenty of other ways to design the shower so the glass was stable. Kitchens By Request didn't want to correct this mistake because they didn't want to spend the money fixing their error. The stability bar was a cheap ugly unacceptable option. It will cost thousands to correct this problem. The lawsuit is further to recover the faulty design and workmanship in this regard. In short, I would never recommend this contractor for anything unless you are looking to be ripped off.

It is the most beautiful kitchen ever!  Blue and his brother did a fabulous job with the design and installation. We gutted the entire kitchen and started from scratch.   Blue is meticulous, pays attention to every detail, ensured that all appliances were placed in convenient locations -- easy to reach and work with.  he cared about every design, color and material selected for cabinets and countertops, and then extended his design into our family room.   Blue is irreplaceable.

KITCHENS BY REQUEST did a great job on our kitchen!    I chose a design-build specialty kitchen & bath remodeler and am glad I did.  They provided a complete kitchen remodel and small tweaks to the contiguous dining room and living room.   The relationship started with Blue Arnold, Sr. Designer/Co-owner, recommending a change to the design, which I resisted and he was right.  THE OVERALL PROJECT WAS COMPLETED ON BUDGET AND AHEAD OF SCHEDULE.  KITCHENS-BY-REQUEST (KBR) own dedicated staff (laborers, Master Carpenters, Painters/Drywallers) were on-site nearly everyday during the project.   They kept me informed of the weekly activities every week.  Lance Arnold, Co-owner/Production Manager spent a hands-on day doing drywall work when the schedule needed it!  All big jobs have problems, how KBR handled the problems was very professional. Every problem got immediate attention and was promptly FULLY resolved (no cutting corners).   The cabinets and countertop look great.  They only subcontractors used were specialized wood floor refinisher and plumbers.  I hired/OVERSAW the electrician on my own.  KBR prepared an added detailed electric plan for me at no extra cost!  We reused all our appliances.
Services include: Design consultation, materials selection, Demolition (TOP TO BOTTOM), floor tear out, tying in new wood floor with existing wood floors, new floor-ceiling cabinetry, new granite countertops/backsplashes, instant hot water, new sink/faucet, chandelier, pendant lights, breakfast bar, new French Doors, painting, trimwork and finishing.
Due to a scheduled surgery it was essential that the proejct finish on time - KBR finished ahead of schedule with only one extra.
I recommend Kitchens-By-Request.  My wife, son and I are thrilled with this project.

.Our kitchen was completely gutted.  A gifted artist designed the glass in one set of cupboard doors.  Mother of pearl was periodically imbedded our our tile.  All the workmen were of the highest caliber.  Our only complaint was the quality of our Kitchenaid dishwasher. It isn't near the quality of the one we bought thirty years earlier.  My wife and I picked out the tile on the floor which is truly beautiful.  We also had our pantry retiled with the same tile. This was included in the $74000.  Our kitchen exhaust is raised and lowered as needed.  The exhaust goes through our outer wall.

They were expensive, but everyone loves what they did.  Two brothers run the business.  One brother does the estimates and the other brother does the design work.  They work well together.
