Our furnace went out. We called this family business, which had serviced the furnace in the past, and they came promptly. Told us the burner had died (which we had pretty much figured out ourselves). We could replace the burner, or install a new furnace. Much more cost-effective to get new furnace. They did the job in the next couple of days. We love the new (quiet!) furnace, and feel we got excellent service and price from this high-quality company.

Very well. We went with their recommendations on a system, and it's been great, reducing our heating bills significantly over what we were paying previously. We also got an EnergyStar rebate from Pepco, which Scott made really easy to navigate by just deducting it from he charged us.

Great. We've used Germantown Services (which is different from another heating/ac company that also has Germantown in its name) for a number of years now. They've always been very responsive and helpful and very fairly priced -- including not charging us at all for a visit one time when they were able to restart our faltering heating system by a couple of well-placed knocks. I trust both their honesty and advice, and recommend them highly.

Our AC for the upper level of our home was not blowing out cold air. I had to wait through the weekend to even get an appointment with another service contractor, and they couldn't even guarantee they would arrive at a certain day. Upon calling Germantown Services, the father of the company called to inquire and was ready to stop by our house that day, but we weren't available. Then Scott Sadler called couple of hours later not knowing his father had already contacted me, and we scheduled an appointment for the next day. He was prompt, friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and trustworthy, and more importantly, he didn't try to sell us anything that was unnecessary.
I highly recommend this company, a local family owned business.

Once I reached him on the phone, it went very smoothly. The price quoted was lower than the amount estimated by another company which had recommended the replacement of my humidifier. Scott anwered my questions and showed me how to contol the humidifier installed. He brought the equipment needed with him and cleaned up afterwards. My home has been more comfortable since then.

As noted in the prior field, the service was prompt, helpful, friendly- and the total for the phone and follow-up onsite work was only $100 (two techs spend over 30 minutes onsite). One small example was that when during the work onsite they had to drain some water that had collected in the drain pipe, they were careful to put down cloths to make sure the water was confined to the space around the furnace. A really great experience in an area of service that we have had some negative experiences in during our more than 40 years in the DC area. Really first rate!

Job was done to our satisfaction and they demonstrated a good work ethic.

These 2 guys came on Saturday on time and looked at it carefully and knew right away the problem and fixed it under 30 mins for ONLY $200. We plan to use them for all our future Heating/Electrical issues and tell everyone about them.
They have been obviously been doing it for long while, as they knew so much about it.

These guys are THE BEST!!!! I trust them to tell me what's what and their price is very reasonable. Scott is going to handle our electrical issues as we re-do our basement...very hard to find people in this area that are honest and normal.

Having lived in the Bethesda area for nearly 40 years I have become accustomed to either getting marginal services or paying premium prices. The service from Germantown Services was amazing and the price far lower than I had anticipated. I had checked both Angie's list and Checkbook- and chose on that basis and even with fairly high expectations from their prior ratings, the service exceeded my expectations. They contacted me within an hour of my original call-and even though this was not an urgent problem a repair person was at our house the next morning. What was really positive was that not only were the problems fixed promptly with no push to replace the units, but the technician also when asked to do so, cleaned and serviced the heat pump, furnace and air conditioning units (something I had put off far too long) all for less then $200 including a replacement part for the humidifier. I would readily recommend them and plan to use them in the future for HVAC related services. All in all a very positive experience.

Mis-Diagnosed problem. Put in under sized compressor / HVAC unit, so it never took sufficient humidity out of the air.

They do good work. I've used them for about 18 years. They're also reasonably priced. They're very reliable and they stand by their work.

My eperience with Germantown Sevices started when my oil-fired hot water furnace was failing to ignite in early December 2011. I had recently cancelled a furnace maintenence contract with my oil supplier because I was feeling strug along. I had been told by plumbers and various other professionals that there was minor work that needed to be performed on the furnace, but the oil company service techs seemed to never quite get around to repair. I felt they were just nursing the furnace along and taking my contract money every year. I checked Angie's list for local contractors. There is another HV/AC contractor with a similar business name here in this area. I called them first, because they had good ratings and more total ratings. The first thing they told me was they did not service oil-fired furnaces. So I called Germantown Services. I am so glad I did.

I left a message with the secretary and got a call back from both Scott, the owner, and well as Jim, one of the technicians that did the work. They were very prompt and personable. I have a rediculous work schedule. Jim and Dave could not have been more accomodating and friendly. I don't know $%#and about furnaces, and they could have taken complete advantage of my ignorance. It took several days of trouble shooting, for them to finally solve the issue, but they finally got to the bottom of it, and they gave me a very fair price for all of the work they ended up doing. They were terrific about working around my schedule.

In a world where scamming and minimal services for maximum price is the norm, I truly believe Germantown Services to be an exception to the trend. Jim and Dave are quality people. I trust them implicity with the care and maintenance of my furnace. How often can you say that about service contractors today? I trusted Jim and Dave enough to leave them a house key on a day I could not be here to let them in and out. And I would do it again if I had furnace trouble tomorrow.

I don't think you can put a price on the peace of mind I now have. I have that peace of mind because of two things. One, I now believe don't need to know and %$# about furnaces because Jim and Dave do. And two, I know that if/when I have furnace trouble again, Germantown Services is a trusted, down to earth, reliable service provider who will be there for me when I need them. You can't put a price on that.

I can't say enough about the profesionalism of Jim (owner) and Dave. Not only do I feel we got excellent service, we also got excellent advice. They stuck with us through many long months of waiting for the electricians to finish their work - without complaint. These men really understand their craft and truly listen to their customer's requirements! I recommend them highly: Fast and punctual response to calls. Honest, smart, skilled.

Yesterday was pretty warm, so we turned on our A/C for the first time this year. It wasn't blowing cool air through the vent like it should be, so we called Germantown Services. I spoke to a very friendly serviceman, who suggested we change the filter in the furnace first before they came out. We did, however unfortunately it didn't work. Before I could call them back, they called us to check and see if it had solved the problem. When I told him it didn't, they came to my home within half an hour to an hour, were very friendly and professional, and fixed the problem. They even sold us some extra filters for our furnace, since ours uses a non-standard size. The price was pretty reasonable. I would highly recommend this company, and would definitely use them again in the future. I plan to have them service my system yearly.

Gave me good info on how to get the best system for the money. Checked his price against 2 others and he was hundreds of dollars less. Scheduled the work. Showed up on time, finished on time. Charged the exact amount with no surprises.
