We at Wilcox Electric are here to serve you. Our team will insure that you receive complete electrical services in a timely, professional manner. Since our founding in 1989, our successful stream of work has been driven largely by customer recommendations. Our company has evolved from a home-based business to an electrical contracting business with 22 employees. As a reflection of the times, we are installing increasing numbers of EV car charging stations in both single family houses and multi unit dwellings.

I just spoke to this Member and understand his concerns about the heavy-up job that we completed in late summer/fall. I am sorry that he felt the need to give a F for the experience, but I understand that he was frustrated with our office. The electrical heavy-up was done well and passed inspection with no problems. We in the office were not adequately responsive, and I accept the criticism. I have very good people in the office, and we will discuss the issue raised by the Member. I have since hired an additional staff person to help manage the workload. My focus for 2016 will be to improve our internal organization and the communication between office, customer, and field staff. It would have helped us manage this Member's job better.

Description of Work: Removed existing chandeliers and installed 2 new chandeliers, removed 2 ceiling lights and installed new lights, replaced 2 hard-wired smoke detectors, and removed one existing bathroom vanity light and replaced with a new one. Also replaced bad timer on outside light with a new switch. Electricians Dale and Joseph were prompt and courteous. They explained everything that needed to be done and when unexpected problems popped up, they were able to quickly resolve. Dale is very knowledgeable and I appreciated his expertise. The entire job took approximately 3.5 to 4 hours. I was very pleased with their work and I will definitely use again.

Description of Work: We were trying to diagnose a problem with low voltage under-counter lighting. Technician identified the electronic dimmer as being defective, but later found that it wasn't. I think he didn't have the right equipment to test an electronic dimmer. The transformer was defective. The quote to replace and rewire the single low-voltage transformer with multiple smaller transforms that we had already purchased seemed very expensive.

It seems that this Member did not have confidence in the electrician that serviced his under-cabinet lights. That is unfortunate. The electrician, Dale, has 30 years of directly relevant experience in residential service work. In fact, he is the "troubleshooting expert" in our company. Everyone at Wilcox Electric has such high regard for his electrical skills, so I was surprised to see that Dale had been the electrician on this job. I understand that the customer may not be comfortable with the estimated cost of replacing the transformers. We encourage our customers to obtain other estimates. Our prices are neither excessive nor the lowest in the market. If you can find an up and coming, talented electrician (such as my husband, Steve, 15-20 years ago), you'd have a great deal! These days, Steve is surrounded by staff and managed by an organizational structure, so he's no longer the bargain of years past. (If you do find such an electrician, please send him/her our way -- our biggest challenge in this business is finding such talent.) Sincerely, Tracy Wilcox

Description of Work: Wilcox was called to install a new kitchen LED light fixture. The job almost immediately got very complicated because the wiring was not up to standard for the original fixture. The electrician ended up doing significant work to correct the wiring. While the job ended up being far more expensive then anticipated, I have the peace of mind that a potentially dangerous electrical condition was corrected. And I was relieved that I didn't try to install the fixture myself.

Description of Work: Rodney and Eric came over to install a new chandelier above the stairs leading to our second floor. Not only did they arrive early (a plus in my book), but they did a great job with the project. They were able to assist with hanging it where I wanted, and adjusted it accordingly when asked. I am so happy to have the new chandelier, and would definitely hire them again.
