Description of Work: Steve came to troubleshoot a GFI that kept tripping in the kitchen. He was professional, on time and explained everything thoroughly--he really knows his stuff! He ended up having to split the circuit and has since been out again to decipher our exterior lighting. He is always friendly, respectful and extremely knowledgeable--I appreciate his dedication to figuring out our complex electrical systems.

Description of Work: Technician was prompt, knowledgeable, and professional. Repaired a faulty baseboard heater, diagnosed other electrical items, completed electrical check of the home, and attempted to replace a light fixture but I did not have the proper replacement. Company promptly refunded the unused portion of the Angie's List amount.

Description of Work: Excellent service. The technician arrived on time, completed the work in a very professional manner and cleaned up after himself, even vacuuming the sheet rock dust. He was cheerful and thorough.

Description of Work: I called Wilcox to address an urgent need which had to be addressed within the same day. Pria, the scheduler who answered my phone call. Explained that the schedule was full but she would try to find fit me in. She promised to call me back and did within a half hour with an appointment within the hour. She was responsive, resourceful and very pleasant to deal with. The electrician, Nelson, arrived early, was prepared and knowledgeable about the problem as well as resourceful in developing a solution. He worked efficiently and neatly and tested the result of his work. I was extremely satisfied and reassured by the overall services provided by Pria and Nelson and would definitely contact Wilcox again for other electrical matters at my home.

Description of Work: Corrected wiring errors in electric panel (identified in previous inspection), installed 2 new outlets. Spent much time troubleshooting, and failed to correctly identify and correct, wiring error discovered during installation of additional outlets. | |In fairness to the provider, my home had evidently been serviced by unqualified contractors and/or previous homeowner prior to my purchase. I hired this provider to correct a hazard that I learned of during my home inspection (which they did very efficiently) and install two additional outlets. | |In the course of discovering the additional outlets, the electrician discovered that one circuit was wired incorrectly in such a way that its neutral wire carried current even when the circuit was disconnected at the breaker. The electrician spent the next four hours attempting to diagnose this problem, and ultimately was unable to do so. It was a complicated problem, thus I can forgive the electrician's inability to diagnose it; however, I had suggested that he check a specific potential source of the error, which he did, and he missed it at the time, but I found later that I was correct, and was I able to fix it myself (one box contained two switches that were on different circuits. Their neutral wires were crossed. I suggested he inspect this box because I knew that it contained wires for two circuits. He did so, but did not notice that the neutrals were crossed.) I was thus billed for 3 additional hours of his continued poking around trying to find the problem after I had already pointed out the problem to him and he looked straight at it and did not notice it and moved on. The impact of this oversight was compounded by the fact that their hourly rate is quite high compared with other qualified providers. | |In conclusion, they did a good professional job of the specific task that I hired them to do, and did it efficiently. My only complaints (besides their high rate) pertain to their performance on troubleshooting a problem that they discovered in the field, which is understandable and forgivable, however, I feel that I paid for a lot of additional labor that yielded no benefit for me due to the unproductive nature of the troubleshooting of that problem in conjunction with the fact that the source of the problem was examined but overlooked early in that troubleshooting process. | |

Description of Work: I received a proposal from wilcox, with two options. However, despite repeated requests and calls about some questions I had, there was no follow up. I am now looking for an alternative provider.
