This was a fantastic experience. My power had gone out the night before and when it came back on my air conditioning unit was not working. I had flipped the breakers to try to troubleshoot on my own and the breakers would not go back to the "on" position. I called at 10:00 a.m. and by 11:30 a.m. someone was at my home fixing the problem and one that I did not know I had. In addition, the person left things cleaner than they found them!! He explained what went wrong, what I should do next time, and had everything fixed in thirty minutes.

They performed the work in a timely manner.

Great. They gave a good estimate, arrived on time and did the work quickly.

Workers were very punctual, and fortunately could schedule call the same day I called, which I appreciate since this was an emergency. Mr. Wilcox explained well the nature of the problem; an old and deteriorated fuse box which is common to all the units in my condo bldg. Was very above-board that his fix was a stopgap measure, and recommended getting the building to retrofit/replace fuse boxes. I asked Mr. Wilcox to talk with building manager on way out to explain situation. He was agreeable about doing it (even waited a few minutes for manager to show up) and give him a straight explanation.

I decided to call Wilcox for two reasons; first because they come highly recommended and second because (mistakenly) I believed that sharing the same ZIP code might get us faster service. Boy was I wrong. Not only did we have to book our appointment 2.5 weeks away, but come time for them to finally come, they notified us two days ahead of time to tell us that they have "overbooked" and are "very busy" so they have to cancel our appointment, and reschedule in two MORE weeks! What we found most unprofessional was the lack of explanation as to why we were bumped, and no apology or offer to give us a discount on future services. I will not use Wilcox nor will I recommend them, in fact, I'll recommend my friends NOT use them.

The owner came to bid the job. He was very professional and helped us decide the number and location of cans needed to adequately light the rooms. A few problems arose during the job - placement of hall fixtures and some light switches were did not work as we originally requested. Each problem was addressed and resolved to our satisfaction. The owner was very responsive. He provided us with some extra items at no cost to compensate for the inconvenience of the mistakes.

Great, they were very professional and efficient. I felt bad because the job involved running around in a very cold crawl space under the house (drilling holes and move the cable through). They couldn't have been nicer about it. Excellent!

First rate organization -- with the onset of cold weather the circuit breaker for our living room lights was shorting AND several outlets in our basement stopped working. I called and scheduled an appointment and they showed up right on time, 9 am on President's Day. Even better I'd already gone to work and left a note describing the problems we were having, necessary because school was closed for the holiday and my in-laws, who don't speak English very well -- were at home watching my daughter. The Wilcox electrician rang my mobile, told me exactly what was causing the short, and had it fixed within 20 minutes. In addition his helper was taking care of the outlets. They also identified why a light had stopped working in our basement bathroom (although I hadn't asked them to fix as we're going to refinish it) and fixed THAT as well (no charge!). They didn't bill us the full hour, left a nice summary of their work, and called again to let me know everything was finished.

Kevin was our electrician. Extremely polite, cordial, professional; called ahead to let me know when he would be arriving (on time), patiently answered all my questions and made upgrade suggestions to old outlets (noted I needed GFIs in my kitchen/bathrooms). Noted we had 2 dead batteries in smoke detectors and made me promise to go out and get replacements asap. Will definitely request him again. He absolutely knows what he's doing.

He tested the fuses in the fuse box, tested the relay box, examined a junction box and examined the electrical system that the furnace was running off of for power. There was a newer burner switch that was in the wrong direction, in the off position. He gave a very thorough testing and it was restored right away. He recommended to get off the fuse system and get a circuit breaker panel for safety reasons. He also addressed the high points of safety and was extremely helpful.

Steve did an emergency call on Saturday morning. Showed up 20 minutes after I called him (he called me back right away) and did the work within the next 20 minutes. Steve was very professional and did an excellent job. I will definitely hire him again to do more electrical work.

Wilcox came the day after I called and quickly installed the necessary item so that I could install my new stove. I spoke to the owner on the phone when setting up the appointment and he was very responsive; the electrician was very nice and professional. I mentioned several other small jobs that I want to have done in the future and they said they could take care of them all, so I will be calling them back.

We had a number of smallish electrical work that needed to be repaired after a general contractor's botched attempts. Based on the general contractor's plumbing issues (a kitchen faucet that worked sporadically, a new garbage disposal that didn't work, and leaking under the kitchen sink), we knew that we'd have to bring in an electrician to inspect and possibly re-do some of the electrical work in the kitchen, including rewiring of the range, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and four outlets. Wilcox found a number of bad electrical work (to the point where the general contract left a number of electrical hazards), and made the necessary repairs, including completely rewiring the range, which the electrician said looked like an imminent hazard. We subsequently had Wilcox do some additional work, including the installations of a bathroom light/fan and hallway light fixtures.

We had to have all electrical redone in our house.
