On the rainy day when I moved into my ?new? 70 year old house, a wall outlet short circuited as the movers carried in my wet belongings. After the movers left, I went to an internet caf? to look up an electrician on the List. I called Wilcox and asked whether they could have a look at the outlet that same day because I had a military inspection for the next two days and would not be available. Wilcox was able to send Juan to my house that same afternoon. Juan was incredibly efficient, friendly and helpful. Not only was he able to quickly determine the problem and fix the wall outlet, he also solved an issue with two wall sconces which had no off switch and another problem with a wall switch that apparently connected to nothing. And he did it all at a reasonable price. I was so pleased with his great service that I called Wilcox again a few days later to make an appointment for a couple more electrical issues in my new, old house. I have just relocated to the Washington area after 20 years overseas and I didn?t think good service at a reasonable rate could be found any more but Wilcox proved that it can be.

It was a pleasure to enlist the services of Wilcox Electric. Steve came to the house right on time for the estimate appointment. He was able to give much-needed advice about some hard-to-fit lighting areas. He made me a detailed shopping list (including drawings of some parts!), so that I could purchase the supplies on my own. The cost of the parts was about $200, and his estimate for the labor was $450 (exactly as charged and less expensive than an estimate I received from another electrician). On the day of the work appointment, Steve had an unexpected worker absence. He called me ahead of time to let me know he would still be able to come, but he would be late. His unforeseen tardiness was more than made up by his speedy work-- he and his assistant Jonty completed all the work in less than 3 hours (we had originally estimated about 4 hours). The men completed all tasks flawlessly, and they meticulously cleaned up any dust/debris. As a bonus, they were polite and cheerful, did not waste any time, and were kind to our pets (who were a little bit in the way of the project). I would definitely call Wilcox again, and would recommend them 100%.

This went really well. They can when they said they would both for the estimate and for the actual work. They got it finished quickly and so far everything is working well.

Ray showed up, evaluated the work and had it done in less then 30 minutes. He also went over a a few other electrical projects and the electrical aspect of some general contracting work I'm going to have done. He was very professional and went above and beyond my expectations.

There was an issue with a plate needed to cover track lighting. We did not have the plate. The electrician said he would purchase what was necessary and come back and install it.

Great! They gave us a very accurate estimate and actually told us we didn't need to fix some of the other things we asked about. They were understanding when we had to change an appointment and then showed up on time and answered more of our questions once they finished.

Went well. On time, professional, good price, methodical in determining the source of the problem.

The fellows who came did a great job in hanging a particularly challenging light fixture. Then, they were able to fix a swith problem associated with that fixture's associated wall switch.

They were on time, explained the work they were doing as they went along and cleaned up before they left. The team was very professional and polite. I was amazed at how quickly they finished all the work. I would use them again. The owner of the company also made himself personally available in case I had any concerns. For a relatively small job just outside of their normal service area, I really could not have asked for more. It was a pleasant experience.

There was a flat fee that they told me about for coming out. They came on time and got the work done quickly. They were very professional and very good.

Fantastic. On time. Super professional. Very efficient. Great at explaining the the issues. I have no idea whether these guys are more or less expansive then others but I don't care - they are worth it.

I really liked them and they have done a good job. They are professional and very good. I did get them as a reference from a realtor and have been pefectly happy with them.

It went very well. In all, I spoke with the estimator, Steve, an office scheduler, the electrician and his mate who did the work, and then a person who followed up the next day by phone. This was the first time that we had hired Wilcox. At the end of the job there was a discrepancy between the final bill and the estimate. Wilcox made an adjust and sent us a check the very next day. Very impressive. I would definitely work with them again.

I am not easy to please, but I was absolutely impressed. On a Sunday morning, after a late Saturday night electrical short and loss of lighting, Steve Wilcox fixed the short, replaced the burned out switches, upgraded the wiring, and restored the lost lighting. From start to finish, this was exceptional service. My emergency call on Sunday morning was answered immediately. Mr. Wilcox showed up when promised. He confirmed that power was coming into the house and being distributed from the junction box. He narrowed down the possible remaining problems, isolated the real problem, and fixed it quickly. I have found an electrician for the rest of my needs. I would not have found him but for Angie's List. Thanks Mr. Wilcox and thanks Angie's List.

They were very nice and thorough. They even told me the wiring in my house was new and looked like it was well done. That's always good to hear! I would recommend them to a close friend or family member.

It was great! They were punctual and professional. The electrician gave me some phone numbers for other service providers in the area for some other work I want to have done. Also-make sure you tell them that you heard about them on Angie's list. They will give a 10% discount.

We hired this company previously and paid $670 for them to wire a ceiling light and change an outlet. My husband did not want to hire them because he thought the estimate was too high for the work that needed to be done. We were anxious to get the work done and they were available right away. The man who came to work was friendly and did the work in the amount of time they estimated, so when we had a few other projects recently that needed to be done, I called them again for an estimate. The new estimate was $1,196. My husband this time said absolutely not. He asked around for recommendations and found someone who was friendly, professional, cleaned up nicely and did a very nice job in an hour and charged us $130. I will not be contacting Wilcox Electric for any more estimates. Since posting this report, Wilcox Electric has contacted us and apologized for what appears to have been a mix-up. They say they attached the wrong price to our scope of work and that the estimate should have been $200+ (I can't remember the exact figure). They were very friendly and concerned about this matter. The price is still higher than what we ended up paying, but at least now in a fair range for the work needed, so we have amended our grade for them.

Everything went fine, showed up on time, completed the work and departed.

No oversight, trusted their employees too much. Splice box in a couple of places. Downlights and outlets on a switch with a dimmer. No oversight, no oversight. Owner needs to review and inspect work. Quality control issues. They were the cheapest bid.

I liked the owner, Steve, very much from the first estimate. He was clearly an expert in his field, and friendly to boot. Unfortunately, the two guys who actually came to do the work were not so great. One found an exposed wire in a bathroom which he grabbed with his bare hand and electrocuted himself. As a result, the entire second and third floors shorted out. So, rooms that used to have power and function just fine had to be rewired-they ended up having to come back a second day which I had to pay for. Plus, I had to explain repeatedly what I wanted moved/removed and they still didn't get it quite right. On the other hand, when Steve came back to see how things were going, he remembered exactly what I wanted done and stood over them to make sure they did it correctly, doing some of it himself. In the end, I was satisfied that my house was safe and everything worked, which is really the point. I would hire them again, but I would insist that Steve come too to be sure his guys do it right.

Estimate was done and a date was set for work to be done and completed. Edwin and John T showed up on first day and Steve Wilcox showed up for large part of day. Edwin and John T completed the work in the promised time. They were very accommodating and were always attentive to the many questions and requests. They will return to install the outer part of the lights, when the painters are finished. Overall, the job went better than expected.

Great. Scheduling the estimate and work was easy and fast. They called me on their way to my place a couple of times, to let me know if they were running late and when I could expect them to arrive. They were professional, cleaned up after themselves, answered my questions, and walked me through everything. I've already recommended them to several friends.
