Since our founding in 1989, our successful stream of work has been driven largely by customer recommendations. Our company has evolved from a home-based business to an electrical contracting business with 22 employees. As a reflection of the times, we are installing increasing numbers of EV car charging stations in both single family houses and multi unit dwellings.

Dimas and Nick were fantastic! The original scope of work got changed a bit and I had a few additional things for them when they arrived. They were on time, professional, flexible. They even fixed a small item I didn't even ask them to do. Wouldn't hesitate to use Wilcox any time I had electrical needs.

Wilcox electric work is really great, this is my second time having work performed. David Settimi was my electrician, he was great at explaining the different options available for dimmer switchers and how to place the recessed lighting for maximum light and to look nice in an interior bedroom. Very polite, very knowledgable. David did a great job cleaning up after the job was over. He was fast while maintaining a high quality work product. It's hard to find good electricians in DC. A "handyman" quoted me a similar price as Wilcox, and I guarantee the handyman work would be no where near as professional as David.

Estimating, for instance, is a skill that some people just don't quite grasp. He can estimate all but the most complex jobs that we reserve for Steve Wilcox. Moreover, we are confident in sending him out to virtually any work that we take on. He has a very strong mechanical aptitude, and he's a nice polite young man. We are so pleased to call him one of our electricians! And we've seen him grow up and become a mature man with a beautiful family too! Separate from my comments above, it is so interesting to learn that a handyman might charge an equivalent amount of money as a professional electrician. If that's the case, I would encourage everyone to save the electrical work for the professional electricians who specialize in residential wiring. We find the craziest things behind the walls sometimes! I don't like to be alarmist but these things can be downright dangerous too."

This was my latest great experience with Wilcox. Today David Settimi took down a hideous chandelier that has bugged me since I moved in, put up a new one in a different location, installed a new dimmer for the new chandelier, and removed two old light boxes from the ceiling. As with my (several) previous experiences with Wilcox, David was careful and precise with his work, and did an excellent job cleaning up. Wilcox is my go-to whenever I need an electrician.

Wilcox Electric is simply the best electrician we have experienced using in Washington, DC. We have gone through four renovations so we are very aware about what quality service is and isn't. Wilcox Electric delivered exceptional quality service, at an honest price and stayed within the estimate. They were excellent with communicating via email and phone. We appreciated the in-home estimate of our lighting upgrade project. The estimator was very professional and listened to our ideas and helped us make some strategic decisions. He was masked during his visit. The estimator provided excellent recommendations on lighting fixtures and under-cabinet lighting. We were allowed to buy our own fixtures and pendant lighting. We unfortunately chose some fixtures that were unexpectedly backordered. Wilcox Electric was very patient and just told us to be in touch once we had all the fixtures and bulbs on the premises. We were completely unaware of the under-cabinet lighting that Wilcox recommended and we worked with that company to order what was estimated and it now looks like a brand new kitchen. We absolutely love the everything that Wilcox Electric installed and recommended. We were provided a range of dates to choose from for the installation. We received reminders and calls on both days from the installers as to when they would be arriving. This was a two person job (one electrician and one apprentice). Both were very respectful of our home and wore booties and were masked the entire two days they were doing the install. The team was compliant with our buildings requirements for contractors and left the job site extremely clean at the end of both days. They removed all old fixtures and dimmers from the premises each day. Invoicing and payment for services were easy and secure. We could not be more happy with our lighting upgrade from start to finish. We will definitely be using Wilcox Electric for all of our electrical needs and recommend them to everyone we know.

I want to take the time to let you know what an excellent job you did on my home last week. For years, I have been experiencing trouble with my electricity in my entire home. I had no idea how I was going to fix these problems or financially pay for the work. Despite all, I took several estimates from different electrical contractors. However, Wilcox Electric was the one I selected at the end of the day. I chose them for several reasons, First, Mr. Wilcox himself came to survey the job. We talked and got to know each other and frankly I felt very comfortable with him in explaining my needs in my household. Furthermore, he gave me an excellent price…they provide great customer service and showed outstanding professional in their work. On the day of the job, when I first met them I knew that they were a good team. Let me especially point out a few electricians who worked tirelessly on the job: Nelson, Li John, Nick Wood and Nick Nagy. What a group of young professional electricians. And even when things went wrong with the electricity after they completed the work, they kindly schedule to come and complete the job. My thoughts were WOW!!! How did I get so lucky? Dale Debley of Wilcox Electric is fantastic, I will never hire anyone else. We hired him to do what we thought was a simple switch out of three electrical fixtures in our historical home. He came on a Friday, discovered that none of the three current light fixtures were installed correctly, were missing boxes, were a fire hazard and one of them was held up with a screw drilled into drywall. Definitely not what you want to hear with young kids in the house. Even though Dale is booked out for months, he returned to our house on Sunday arriving at 9am and staying until 8pm until everything was fixed, new fixtures were installed, and most importantly, it was safe for our kids. I am so grateful to Dale. He was a pleasure to work with, is creative (we avoided having to punch holes in walls to rewire), and he answered our questions. He also cheerfully worked with an antique light fixture which was causing trouble. I have only good things to say about Dale and so appreciate him coming on a weekend to make our house safe for my young kids. Dale is gem!

from start to finish wilcox electric has been excellent in terms of scheduling, explaining the specifics of the work required, and then efficiently getting it done. The technician, Steve, was particularly helpful in describing the cause of the problem with the light fixture, as well as the specifics of the repair work. He also explained why we did not need to replace one of the bathroom outlets. We have used--and been pleased with--wilcox electric in the past. should the need arise we will use them in the future We recommend them to others without reservation.

Wilcox Electric was responsive and professional from beginning to end of the project. The only surprise was that Abdel and his crew of apprentices went the extra mile in every respect. They were punctual and professional. They kept me apprised of challenges encountered in my 1923 home, and they cleaned up each day they were here. The fees were reasonable, especially considering the service. Absolutely would hire them again and recommend Wilcox highly.

Steve Smith did a great job. We didn't know if the current light could be fixed or replaced. We had a replacement available. Mr. Smith figured out how to fix the current light and saved us a bundle 'cause we can return the replacement. A simple solution done quickly and efficiently. We will always ask for Mr. Smith for any future electrical work.

The person on the phone was very professional and called back even to suggest an earlier appointment as someone else had cancelled. She was clear about what to expect in terms of costs and followed through on the day of the appointment. The problem was solved efficiently in approx. 40 min. The electrician was super professional, asking upfront all the relevant questions, adapting to our needs, and quickly resolving the issue. He was also very courteous. The price was what we had anticipated and fair. We would definitely ask for Wilcox Electric's help again.

We couldn't be happier with the service we received. Our problem: part of a circuit in our 100 year old house suddenly died. No fuse was thrown, and there was no obvious cause. Sadly, one of the rooms affected serves as my wife's remote classroom, and with no power, her teaching was going to suffer. When the Wilcox scheduler learned the outage was affecting teaching, he escalated our case to emergency status and bumped us to the head of the line. Within a couple of ours, our electricians — Abdel and Ace — arrived, and proceeded to methodically isolate the problem: a short in ancient wire in a dimmer switch. Whereas I would have thrown in the towel, they were tenacious. They were also personable and interesting people! All in all, friendly, efficient, competent, and reasonably priced service. Highly recommended.

Steve Smith came out and fixed up some workmanship issues with my garage wiring and subpanel. He was excellent! Punctual - he was early and called ahead. Great communication - he explained all the issues and the work he did to correct it. He neatened everything up, tightened everything, and made it safe. When I explained another issue, he immediately took care of that as well. Good contractors in DC are hard to find and Wilcox sent an amazing electrician. I highly recommend Steve Smith's work and Wilcox Electric generally.

We have worked with Wilcox for a number of projects and had their help on a heavy up. Josh was wonderful in coordinating with PEPCO and following up with them to make sure they followed through when PEPCO repeatedly dropped the ball. Josh also rescued us when PEPCO left the job without removing old hanging wires that looked like a potential safety hazard. He had someone out to help us within an hour of my call even when it wasn't on the schedule. Wilcox is the only electrician we'll use at this point, and Josh is why.
