They did an excellent job washing and sealing the deck. He was punctual and professional in all dealings. He warned me about some possible issues with creating an uneven stained look by powerwashing, which I appreciated. He tested an area and I decided to move forward. It turned out fine. He came back another date after it dried to apply the sealer. It looks great. They worked fast and the price was extremely reasonable compared to what I have paid for the same work in previous years. In fact, he charged me less than the original estimate when he realized the job was easier and going faster than expected. I would have never know, but I certainly appreciate it!

I cannot recommend Josue more strongly. I have worked with multiple painters in multiple homes and Josue is head and shoulders above any of them. He was recommended by my realtor as the "best painter I know" and I understand why. Josue is truly a craftsman, works very hard (and fast), and gave me an extremely reasonable price. On top of that he's just a really kind and nice guy. What more could you ask?! Before painting, I added some ceiling fixtures that required the electrician to punch 17 (!) holes in the brand new walls and ceiling -- all of which Josue patched and painted so beautifully that it is impossible to tell. He also helped me believe that I could paint kitchen island cabinets and a bathroom vanity cabinet, despite being made of cheap melamine materials, and they look far better than I could have dreamed. (I can also highly recommend Judith at the Benjamin Moore Monarch paint store in Chevy Chase for great help with colors.) In short, I can't rave enough about Josue's work and professionalism. I have been telling all my new neighbors to use him too.

Josue was fast in responding to my initial inquiry. He provided a fair estimate comparable to another company I contacted and far below another company. He was able to schedule my job within a couple of weeks. They were punctual when coming to do the estimate and for both days of painting. They did an excellent job - worked quickly, efficiently and the quality was excellent. Also highly professional. Would definitely use again and recommend to others.

After they initially said the job was complete, a number of visible edges around doors and windows looked sloppy and amateurish. It also appeared to me that they did not sand areas that should have been sanded, and I was unsure whether they had sanded anything at all. I give them a lot of credit for returning to address these issues. Unfortunately, however, even after their corrective work, some of the original problems remain.

"Sorry to hear this dissatisfaction on our work. Mr. [Member Name Removed] hired us to paint their basement living space in their newly purchased house. We discussed priming and changing the colors on walls, painting ceilings, doors and trims. it was a rushed and hectix visit when we looked at this room, there were 3 other parties involved including realtor, current home owners and an other contractor. As always painting requires basic prep work, which is what i saw in the brief moment i was able to discuss that room with the owner during the estimate visit. The walls, doors and trims ended up being in very poor condition from previous paint job done by the seller. We did our best to improved the appearance of the wood work and walls, prior to painting. I think its unfair to receive this bad review, since we didn't discuss a more detailed preparation which is what was needed. We scheduled a touch up visit the day after we completed the work to discuss and remedy this issues and we did. Any other additional restoration improvement to the wall or doors and trim surfaces were not part of the work we were hired to do. As always we use painters tape on door frames and baseboards to provide a well defined paint line in our work. But as always the condition of the surface to be painted will dictate the outcome in some finished work."

I really enjoyed working with Josue. He is punctual and professional and I felt completely comfortable leaving him and his team in my home while I went to work. The work was precise and completed in the schedule Josue laid out initially.
Josue and his team painted 6 doors, a paneled basement room, a closet, hall, stairwell, and a bathroom. They did excellent work. They removed all bathroom mirror and fixtures to achieve an excellent result. They patched many bits that needed it. The end result is excellent.

I couldn't be happier with Josue's work. Both he and his co-worker were kind, super professional and did a great job. I normally paint on my own but couldn't get myself motivated after moving last month. I supplied the paint and primer, which I wanted to take care of anyway. Before the job even started, Josue came over for an estimate and a couple days later was prompt in sending me a written quote. His price was fair and after some back and forth with dates, we confirmed 2 days. He and his colleague showed up on time both days and worked quietly and efficiently. Josue even offered removing/re-installing the blinds (8 of them) in our sunroom - one less thing to do after the paint job was finished. Everything was left clean and tidy. I would highly recommend him for any painting you need in your home.

Great! Josue is very friendly and professional. He gave me a huge color selection and advised me on what shades are best. Moved all the furniture and put it back where it belongs. Prompt work. Great quality. Highly recommended. It's been one year (I'm a little late on reviewing, I know), and everything still looks great. Complimented all the time on what a great change to the house Josue's work is.

I set up an appointment with Josue and he came to do the estimate on a Saturday. I received the quote on Sunday and agreed to the work. One of the pluses was that the work would be done that week. The job took 3 days because he did all the work himself. The quality of the work was excellent and he is highly professional. I would hire again if I have additional painting projects.

I couldn't be happier with the whole experience. Josue was GREAT with email communication -- something I find lacking in other contractors. He was punctual, polite and knowledgeable with every interaction. I definitely got the impression that he knew what he was doing.
The price was very, very reasonable. By comparison, about five years ago we had the same kitchen stripped of wallpaper and painted, and that job cost $900.
They completed the job in one day and left the kitchen immaculate.

Josue was the consummate professional from beginning to end. He was prompt for our estimate appointment, asked questions to be very clear on exactly what was required for our job, and informed us of every detail of the work that his company would perform. He followed up our meeting with a complete estimate within a couple of hours, and remained in close contact with us to follow up on our decision making process as we were on a tight schedule for having the work done. Other companies that we contacted for estimates were difficult to reach - one didn't even bother to show for the estimate appointment. Josue's professionalism and competitiveness to earn the job stood out from the rest.

Josue provided us with regular updates on his work throughout the project, because we hadn't yet moved into the home (waiting to have the painting finished first). Periodic check-ins on the work after hours proved his updates to be exactly on the money.

If is was possible to provide an A+ for each category, Josue would most certainly have earned them. The quality of his work, the fairness of his estimate, and his extremely reasonable price have secured Josue as the painter for all of my future painting needs. We had a great experience with Josue and his team. I arrived to our house about 10 minutes before they were supposed to arrive and Josue was already waiting. His 2 other painters were running a few minutes late because some of the roads were icy from the night before. Instead of sitting around while waiting for the other painters, Josue and I walked through each room and discussed paint and primer needs (I was supplying this to them). Afterwards, Josue began prepping all of the areas which included drop clothes, taping moulding, removing curtains and rods, speckling all visible holes, and sanding the entire wall. While he was prepping, the other two painters arrived and were very nice. They went straight to work upon arrival. All said, Josue primed a few rooms to ensure constant colors (there was different colors above and below chair rails) and applied 2 coats of paint to all walls. We couldn't be more happy with the job and they really went that extra mile to ensure everything was done correctly, including touching up some trim work to make sure it was a clean line all around. I would highly recommend Josue's Painting, we've already requested another estimate for a large painting job because we were so happy with this one!

I really, really liked them. They did a great job and cleaned up beautifully. We have a few touch ups to do but that will wait until I return from vacation. They were very, very good and he was diligent about overseeing his crew. You wouldn't have even known painters were in the house from day to day because their daily clean up was very good. I highly recommend them.

In Dec 2010, Josue and Co. repaired two bedroom ceilings from water damage and painted the ceiling of two bedrooms, bathrooms and hallway. Work was done on time, quickly and with attention to detail. We discussed his doing the entire interior of my house. I called him mid August to see if the job could be done while I was out of town for the Labor Day holiday. He showed up the Thursday morning left to start. I recieved a phone call on Wed. prior to returning that he was finished. Great communication during the job. Professionlal, responsive, punctual, detail oriented.......Josue thanks!!!!!!!

I own a rental home in northern virginia and called Josue after a friend had used him and recommended him to me. Josue and his associates repaired damages to my drywall, baseboards and doorframes that the renters caused and fixed significant water damage to the ceiling from a leak. He then repainted the entire house, ceiling and trim - approximately 1500 sq ft of living area. The total cost was $1600 -- approximately 1/3rd the cost of other estimates I had received. I called him a day after he finished to tell him that I found a few spots on the kitchen ceiling and wanted to know if he could touch it up even though it wasn't part of our original contract and he did it for free the very next day. He is cheap, works quickly and efficiently, does a great job, and is always on time and professional. In addition, he guarantees his work for 1 year. I plan to use him again in the future whenever my rental properties turn over and I have already recommended him to two friends who also plan to use him.
