It took about three weeks and the service was excellent. They called me when it was ready and I picked it up. It works just like new and I'm very happy with the service.

Repair 2 vacuum cleaners

Nothing was wrong with my vacuum but it needed a cleaning. They were very honest and prompt with the service.

Dropped vacuum cleaner off for repair. The person who does that service was out of town and I was told she would call me when she returned. I never heard from them. I then called them a couple of times and they didn't seem to have a great idea as what was happening with my machine. The firs time I was told they would look at it. The second I was told it must be the motor and that would be expensive to repair. I'd be better off buying a new vacuum.

The vacuum wasn't performing properly and I took it in. She provided an accurate quote and finished the work in 2 days.

I took my Singer Sewing Machine to be serviced mainly because the rubber "bobbin tire" had dry rotted and it needed to be replaced. It had been years since I had cleaned or oiled my sewing machine so I asked Rose to look it over also. I thought about buying a new sewing machine but since they offered free estimates, I don't do a lot of sewing, and the machine worked fine I took the sewing machine for a free estimate. I am so glad that I opted to get the sewing machine serviced (sewing machine are now made of plastic and not metaI) and it now works better than ever. Rose cleaned, oiled, serviced and replaced the "bobbin tire". My vintage 'all metal' 328K Singer Sewing Machine works better than ever. It took less than I week to get my sewing machine back.

Hyattsville Vacuum was efficient and reasonable.

Took vacuum in as it's roller brushes had stopped rolling and it had lost suction. The woman at the repair shop was very friendly and did the repair as I waited - much appreciated since I live 1/2 hour away. She quickly identified the problem as she cleaned out dust, hairs, and string from the rollers and the interior, and installed a new belt for the roller. She also noted that I had the wrong kind of bag for the dirt and put in the correct one. Tested the vacuum using scented wood shavings (or something, didn't look close) that really make the vacuum smell much better. Worked perfectly. She had quoted me a price of $30 plus parts over the phone, but when she was finished she said that she could give me a discount since I didn't have to drop it off overnight, and threw in a package of bags for a total of only $20. Great service and price. I'll definitely use them again for any future repairs.

Very smooth and courteous. Vacuum cleaner cord was run over and frayed accidentally down to the wire during cleaning. Took it in to the small shop, and it was repaired on the spot within half an hour at very modest fee. Technician cut cord above frayed part and attached good wire to the plug. Saved us a lot of money.

After using neighborhood vacuum repair shops, including Sears for a Kenmore, and being very unhappy that the vacuums were not repaired properly nor promptly, I took the trip to Hyattsville Sew and Vac. Sylvester, the proprieter, repaired one vacuum on the spot, showed me how to repair the problem if it occurred again, and charged $12. He couldn't figure out easily what was wrong with the second one so kept it, and I haven't gotten it back yet. He made a great first impression, and I recommend that you take the trip. It's well worth it

My dog chewed the electrical cord on the vacuum cleaner several years ago. I taped the connections together and continued to use the cleaner for a few years when it stopped working all together. I took the vacuum cleaner into the store for an estimate, which he quoted and agreed to have the service conducted. I left the cleaner with the technician and retrieved it at the end of the week.

Great, done faster than I'd expected.
