I had used Gulliver's 3 times before this move. Things hadn't always gone perfectly, which can be expected in a move, but this last move (early 2019) was so bad I kept expecting to wake up from a nightmare. We had the owner come over and give us a quote, particularly as we needed help disassembling a large piece to take with us. That meeting went well, and we were hopeful that our last move with this small and locally owned group would go well. When the movers showed up they were late, and had no idea about the large piece. We were ready, every box sealed and labelled, and still it took an entire day to get moved, from a 3 bedroom condo to a house. lowlights: - set a halogen wall lamp on the floor and set our carpet on fire. - broke our murphy bed in 4 places - crushed a small metal file cabinet by placing the corner of something heavier in the middle of the cabinet. - broke 4 branches off the tree in front of our house. - took 2 hours to get from condo to house, which i think included a meal break, but also, shouldn't have taken 2 hours since it took us 20 minutes to get there - banged up our walls in the new house, taking gouges out of the wall I documented all damage, spoke with the owner by phone and the foreman onsite. They did come back and fix the carpet and patch the walls in the condo the next day. It took 5 months to get reimbursed for the broken furniture- and it only happened after a dozen calls and emails, including the last one where I stated that if I did not have the check in hand by the end of the week I would be contacting their insurance, the FMCSA (interstate move), and the better business bureau. Then the owner decided to issue repayment per the terms of our legally binging contract. While I never plan to move again, it is with sadness that I have to say this once wonderful moving company has become horrible. I was a loyal customer for years, and even referred a number of people to them, and now, well.... now it's just a disaster.

They did fine. Nothing was broken. They were able to do the move quickly and gave me a date that they would deliver.  I did not have a long wait.

Gullivers Movers did a great job, everything worked out well.  They seemed to be fairly reasonably priced. They were very polite, they were careful with my stuff.

My experience with them was much better. They were more expensive for sure. Their quality was better. It was a bigger move. They moved my apartment from Baltimore to DC, so the bigger portion of the time was spent in travel. They definitely did well. They wrapped every single piece up. They just made me feel very safe about my things. Nothing broke, nothing was scratched and they did a fantastic job.

They had really good ratings on the Angie's list website, but they pretty much sucked. I spent a ton of money insuring my stuff and they broke lots of things and they never compensated me for any of it, and they wouldn't return calls or answer emails and I just gave up on dealing with it, but it was frustrating.

They packed, the packers themselves were fine, they were okay. But the movers who took the packed stuff and put it in the truck were really, I mean I saw them swing my things in there, and as a result anything that didn't get packed, so lamps, my bed, got wrecked. Things just got broken, lots of things got broken.

When they delivered the things, they tried to hide the broken things, not to show where they had ripped stuff or. But I found it. I had gotten all this insurance on stuff but I was never able to get them to reiumburse me for the damages. I probably had easily $500 worth of damages, so.

They did show up on time and they did deliver when they said they were going to.

I have used Gulliver's twice now.  I would say that for the price, they are pretty good and I would consider using them again.
However, i wish they would be more careful with the furniture.  I had a chunk of
my tv stand break off from the move, and some other items were
scratched.  They do cover everything with blankets, but not 100%.
Both times i've used them they have been nice and respectful and they did
come back and fix my furniture pretty quickly.  Make sure you cover yourself with insurance on the move though, just in case anything happens.

They were efficient andI don't have any problems with them.  I asked for an estimate from them and also from other companies from Angie's List but I find them cheaper than the rest.  I've been looking at their reviews and their are a couple of people who had issues with them.  But those who had issues with them were under cross country moves however the local moves were perfectly happy.  I have no problem recommending them to others.

Gulliver's Movers were excellent. They were very responsive to my first inquiry and were quick to get out to do an in-person evaluation and estimate. They were very upfront with the estimate. Most importantly, they were on time, professional, and friendly.

We used them for a packing and an interstate move.  We've used them locally in the past and had been very happy with their work (always courteous and professional wanting to get it done right) so they were the first choice when we decided to move out of state even though they came in at a higher price.    We had 5 people pack our belongings.   One particular employee did a very poor job in packing, just throwing stuff in the box without properly wrapping it and not properly labeling the boxes.   A few good belongings were damaged as a result of this with no apologies when it was documented to the owner.  There were some other issues with furniture that wasn't wrapped and got dinged (notably lamps)
They did do a good job of making sure all of the furniture and boxes arrived.  Nothing was missing.   Some of the furniture though was dinged/damaged, which is to be expected in a long-distance move, which is why we bought their "insurance."  I put that in quotes since when I asked to file a claim for a particular piece that was insured, the owner wouldn't allow me to file a claim saying that the furniture has to be totally unusable to file a claim.   I found this rather odd since a furniture piece could still work but have a huge ding or major scratch in it and  most people wouldn't want to be one of their feature pieces in their living rooms, thereby making it unusable.  When I insisted on filing a claim, telling him that we'll let the insurance make the decision, the owner still said no.   We wrote the "insurance check" to Gulliver's Movers so were left wondering if the insurance thing is a total scam.
Would still recommend Gullivers for local moves but definitely do not bother with their insurance and be cautious of who you get for your packers if electing the packing option.

They did a very high quality job. They were prompt. The only issue was; they cost significantly more than their estimate. The move went fine. Because of the issue with the cost, I probably would not use them again.
